THE HAGUE – About five hundred dogs and their owners on Saturday 21st May held a protest march in The Hague. They had come to the Malieveld to protest against the torturing of dogs in Spain.
According to the protesters, the animals are kicked, beaten, dragged behind moving cars and even burned alive. The dogs walked from the Malieveld to the Embassy of Spain at the Lange Voorhout.

In 2012 the Irish Department of Agriculture refused the Irish Greyhound Board a permit to export greyhounds to China. This ban appears to have been broken on 9th May 2016 when William and Robert Green attempted to transport 24 of their greyhounds to China but were stopped at Manchester and forced to return. Please write to the Irish Government to protest. Example letter below.

In 2012 the Irish Department of Agriculture officially refused the Irish Greyhound Board a permit to export greyhounds and open up dog racing in China! The government ruling stated that the plan offered by the Bord na gCon:
April 2016 – 6 Irish greyhounds arrive in China to race and die at the Macau Canidrome. This is why we galgo lovers must stand up with the greyhound lovers to stop any more going there.
Caged northwest video of when they picked up the Green’s van in Holyhead, Lancs. Remember, watching the van going round the roundabouts etc, there are 24 greyhounds in it! Contrary to early reports, there is ventilation down the side of the van…early reports said there was no ventilation.

‘The 24 Greyhounds destined for China are now back with their trainer/breeder Robert Green (the man in the video wearing the blue shirt at the exchange) in Ireland. The dogs were inspected by vets & saw fit to let them go back to Mr Green.’
Just to illustrate the confusion of media reports, read this link and then ask the question – if this happened last week how could the Greens take the greyhounds out of Ireland when they were supposed to have been passed as fit to travel?!
According to info on facebook, the dogs did not leave Manchester but it’s not currently reported on their whereabouts. Here’s what the Dogs Trust Ireland says they are doing.
