Galgos France, together with the association Cuencanimal, are appealing for donations to help them buy a piece of land on which to build a refuge for abandoned dogs, which will include hundreds of galgos every year. They need to raise nearly 26,000 euros to buy the land (they have already raised some funds and paid part of the sum), but they will also need funds to construct the refuge too, which they intend to be a model for future refuges. The Bright Eyes Society do amazing work for all animals. At the moment they are appealing for funds for the Jaen Shelter in Andalusia. One of my first foster galgos came from that shelter. Please help Bright Eyes. This is there appeal.

Galgos Sin Fronteras and their president Cristina Garcia have been working for more than 12 years to help the galgos of Spain.

For only 20 euros donated to them, they can pay for the cost of the microchip and compulsory vaccination, which helps them save every galgo taken to the Madrid Dog Pound in the past 2 years.

An amazing result. Please help them.

Sandra Baas of Baas Galgo announces ‘Dutch artist Mieke van Erp has organised a Art-aution for the benefit of galgos in Spain.

The Art-auction will last two weeks. Bidding can be done by e-mail, only at this address: mvanerpgrey@onsbrabantnet.nl. Please make clear for which object your bidding is, by mentioning the number of the object.

Every evening after 18.00 (local time) the name of the highest bidder and the bidding will be put on the site, next to each object. The time your mail arrives counts.

As soon as the biddings of that day are mentioned on the site, there is a new opportunity to put in a higher bid. The auction starts at the 3rd of May and ends at the 17th of May, 18.00 hours sharp (local time)

It always sickens me to see pictures like this.

This galga is called MARIFLOR and was found in this pitiful condition in Linares.

The veterinarian has tried to save her leg, now he has fingers and legs crossed in the hope that it does not get infected.

If the wound does get infected, there will be no option but to amputate the leg.

PRO-GALGO association are arranging the foster of the galga away from Linares during her recovery as the galgos in Linares always get stolen. They are appealing for donations towards her veterinary care.

English Noah’s Arc is a registered animal rescue charity in the Murcia region of Spain created to rescue sick, injured animals.

We are now also able to re-home dogs throughout Europe. Would like to help us fight against animal cruelty and neglect please contact us.

I have received the following appeal from Mme Catherine Madry, founder of Levriers en Detresse.

‘Do you know any American groups or British who could help us to build a kennel, a Greyhound Adoption Centre? I found a good place but can’t pay on my own : 100 000 euros.
It’s not far from La Charité -sur -Loire in Pouilly- sur -Loire. I have all the certificates of the Ministry of Agriculture to do it, all we need is money to create it.

The measurements of the painting are aprox. 70 x 110cm and the painting has a value of aprox. 500eur
