And this is Reyes, saved from Badajoz perrera, young galgo covered in wounds, now in kennels waiting for space at 112carlotagalgos finca. She’s also got some new very traumatised ones too, so any help with feed bills will be appreciated.
Cool To Be Kind has been launched by Sarah Fisher. Basically it is encouraging people to make a short 2 minute video saying what your promise is to help and to be kind to animals. Then you nominate two or three other people to do something along the same lines. If they don’t have animals, they can help in a refuge, cattery, riding stables, donate food and/or medicines.
I was nominated by Natalie Osborne. Now you can see my Cool to be Kind video and I hope that many of you will join in and make a similar video, upload it to Youtube – and facebook if you have a page. Regular readers will have followed the stories of Estrela, Foguete, Duke and Esperanza – the galgo family rescued from an abusive alcoholic galguero. Teresa and her family have given their all – literally – to help the dogs in the very poor area of Portugal where they live. This year they personally have suffered as no one should – and now Teresa’s daughter is appealing for help as her mother is ill from the strain of it all. Please help her get back on her feet and continue helping the animals – who would suffer without them. Please share.

I was sitting here with my thoughts, looking back over time.
Just a mere girl I was at your feet, the foot that booted me regularly. I wondered when the day would be, when I’d be free from the shame I felt.
I wandered by your side Sr.Galguero as a good galga should and on many occasion I know you thought you broke me. You almost did!
At just a year old I’d been born into hell, I knew nothing more than the life I led. Shamed, doomed, and hollow. Fear striking me at every move. How I lived on my nerves .. Oh how I did.
