Scooby Medina and Scooby Valladolid – saving galgos and podencos
So how many galgos and podencos did the Scooby team in January and February 2016? Cobie at Valladolid has been counting.
Maybe you read the news on the Scooby blog or maybe you don´t, but the histories about the trips Scooby makes to save galgos is every time a different one, it´s not that we repeat the same rescues every time. Therefore I put them here again and it’s from January until 23 February, so the rescues from December and before are not included:

DeAnimals – successful prosecution of cruelty to equines
Not about galgos but an example of the incredible work done by DeAnimals firm of lawyers in Murcia. And why they need funding and sponsorship to fight more cases and run more courses to educate lawyers, judges, police, Seprona and volunteers on how to prosecute cases of maltreatment of animals. Please sponsor them through ACTIN here. If donating through Paypal, please go through family and friends and mark Donation to DeAnimals

Spanish TV publicises the abandonment of galgos
Translation of the piece on Madrid television about the abandonment of and cruelty to galgos.
‘Abandoned, abused, malnourished… So are many greyhounds when hunting season, now in February. So protective of animals denounce it as Animal Rescue who see real atrocities committed with these dogs. Some come with obvious signs of abuse and have even had cases of galgos who had started the chip of rennet to avoid being identified.
Between February and June, almost 30% of dogs that are collected in the community of Madrid are galgos.’
If you want to adopt or sponsor one of them, visit the Association’s website: www.animalrescuespain.com

WRITTEN by a Spanish lady, translated with Google:
SPAIN is different !!
I do not care who believe they all sang flamenco and Spanish dance Sevillanas, we spent the day napping and we live in an eternal summer, we really like the fun and little work, I do not care … but I hate, and I am ashamed to live in a country that itself is something to change …

Marching for Spain’s hunting dogs 7 2 2016
300+ marchers in Santander to add to the hundreds who marched in cities all over Spain on Sunday 7th February 2016 to protest about the Spanish galgueros and cazadores and hunting with dogs. Here’s a comment from one marcher.
Santander…
300 people gathered to show the city its rejection of the hunt.
Every time they look more greyhounds and hounds in the north living happily in a home, despite the fact that we still have a long way to go, there’s still a lot of animals suffering, and that they expect us to help them. That’s the reason for these demonstrations, to show everyone what are the consequences of the hunt and that there are other options that involve a happy ending for all. It’s not worth the “I didn’t know”, Now the whole world knows that it is animal abuse, and that’s why we march – for an act of animal protection, by the end of the hunt, for an education based on respect for the living beings. -
