    Claus just turned 6 years old, he is a loving white sheepdog who gets along with cats and children, he is calm and loves cuddles.
    He has been living on one floor for several years, but one of his children has developed an immune disease that greatly affects his fur, and he has to change direction. He behaves great at home and can handle his needs.
    He is super healthy, up to date and sterilized.
    He is in Toledo, Spain.
    He knows very well what a shelter is and doesn’t deserve to go back there, we will find his family among everyone.

  • Galgos Felices Fundacion – galga hung by her leg – now safe

    This is Vida  (Life). And today, finally, her name makes perfect sense. ✨
    We were given the news of a heartbreaking situation: someone, without a minimum of empathy, left her hanging by one of her legs for an entire night. That’s how they found her the next morning, injured and abandoned to her fate. 💔
    Her paw is badly damaged. The vet has confirmed that it’s most likely that she’ll have to have it amputated, but we’re going to exhaust all options to try to save her. And if that’s not possible, we’ll do exactly what’s best for her, so she can run again without pain.

  • Galga looking for a forever home

    Senta / Female   born on 6.2026. Needs a safely enclosed garden;  located in Murcia
    Senta is still at the very beginning of her life and has already achieved a lot. Together with her siblings, she came into the world in a shelter in Spain at the end of June – at temperatures of over 40 degrees.  Unfortunately, out of 9 puppies, only 6 survived. One of her siblings will be adopted by an animal rights activist in Spain.  Now, a new chapter is about to begin for Senta: a family of her own, a safe home, and people who will show her with patience and love how beautiful life can be.

  • Galga Tina with heartworm – please donate to her vet treatment

    Heartworm is a life threatening health problem in dogs, if untreated, spread by mosqsuito bites.  Treatment can be for months and means the dog must not move around very much or it stimulates the worm to move around.

    Galga Tina at Galgos Rescue Almeria has tested positive for this terrible problem.  Here she is at the vet being examined.

    From Sandy at GRA.  Our sweet Tina tested positive for Dirofilaria, heartworm.  Heartworm is a serious and potentially fatal disease if it is not treated properly and closely monitored. Of course, we didn’t waste a single moment.  Tina returned to the veterinarian for a thorough examination. Her heart was carefully checked, and another blood sample was taken. It was examined under a microscope to determine whether any heartworm larvae were still present, allowing her treatment plan to be tailored to her needs.

  • Update on galga Galena with Asociacion Somos Galgos

    Galena had a good night. Wound is progressing quite nicely.  If she continues like this, we can operate on her. The traumatologist told us she’s going to have to have a transplant and do reconstruction.  Just touched the gasket and no damage to the jaw.
    So far we have 400€ of expenses but we’ve only just begun.
    We’ll keep telling you about the evolution of this little one.
