  • 3-legged walk – Hove to Brighton – 19th July 2015 – please sponsor

My daughter Georgy, her boyfriend Leigh and I are doing a three legged walk (or is it a 4-legged walk with 3 people?) this month (19th July) from Hove Lagoon to Brighton Pier to donate to a Dog Refuge in Spain. We have a passion to help abused and abandoned dogs. A lot of these dogs suffer extremely horrific injuries due to outrageous abuse.

We are raising money for Pepis Dog Refuge. They are based in Seville in Spain. Pepis Dog Refuge is run by two amazing people, Alan and Jane Brian! They work extremely hard, day in, day out in blistering hot conditions to look after the welfare of these dogs. They take the dogs in when they’ve been abandoned and abused and looked after them, and get them the help they need until they find them a suitable home. Alan and Jane do an amazing job. However, due to the nature of this job and the high levels of abuse they require a lot of funding. The Refuge is not government funded. It’s all run on donations.

  • Time for the EU to take action…Time for the FEG to take notice!

Another petition to sign…we have to keep pushing and publicising the plight of the galgos and podencos and the horrendous cruelty they suffer at the hands of the corrupt and unfeeling insensitive galgueros. If we don’t continue to speak up, nothing will happen. Change only come slowly, we have to keep trying.

  • Murcia, Spain – latest news on the Container dogs

Here is the latest news on the situation for the container dogs.

  • Kim’s Animal Rescue Centre – for sale

Always sad to read news like this. Too many associations are struggling to feed and rehome the dogs dumped on them.

  • Container dogs – Incarcerated in a metal container in Murcia – in the baking heat!

I have not updated on the situation for the dogs locked in a metal container in baking sunshine in Murcia because the ACTIN legal team asked for a blanket on the publicity. This ban has now been lifted and I can tell you that the ACTIN lawyers have been pushing through their case with the court. The legal team need paying, please Paypal donatons@actin-spain.com to donate to their fees…they do not charge for expenses etc.

    Updates…

  • Personalities in Animal Rescue!

I’m always sceptical of a person who gets involved with an animal rescue association and goes full on with volunteering, fundraising, getting involved with the running of the refuge…goes overboard in fact. Generally, they disappear in the same way – puff, often leaving a bad taste in the mouth on discovering they haven’t been totally honest.

Such a situation has happened recently and, sadly, it’s the refuge which suffers, the dogs which miss out…

I’ll never understand people. Give me animals any day!
