112carlotagalgos is on the move
Charl and I have been good friends since 2007 when I founded Galgo News and Charl wrote publicity articles for Inland Trader and other journals, about the plight of the galgos. I’ve been pleased to support her along her journey to the stables where her first rescues were housed, to the finca in Alhaurin. We even rescued her horse Bailey together, saved from the cruel hands of a gitano. An incredible journey and a story of total devotion to the galgos, and some podencos.
The lease contract on the finca is now coming to an end and 112carlotagalgos has been lucky to be able to take on a long-term rental on a finca just down the lane from the current one.

Pepis Refuge – miracles do happen – with a little help
A message from Jane and Alan Brian of Pepis Refuge, Pedrera, Spain – to all of you who have supported them, especially over the last 2 years since they were hit by 2 mudslides through the kennels and their house; their house was condemned for living in; their electricity generator packed up and the new one didn’t last long either; they both ended up in hospital, at different times; the Belgian galgo association who had supported them then pulled the plug because they were feeding all the 60+ dogs, not just the galgos; a ‘supporter’ – I use the term loosely – was trying to close them down. They were at absolute rock bottom.
With your help and support and that of many other people I contacted – we picked them up. All of you who have responded to appeals for help for them – you rock! Having said that, there are still 7+ dogs there – another little xbreed dumped on Sunday – named Sunday! But don’t forget, they need 700 euros/month just to feed all the dogs….plus homes for them too.

Shame on Italy
This news from the translator of my book into Italian. Terrible!
In order to lighten the massive amount of procedures which must occupy the Italian magistrates, the Renzi government has decided to decriminalize the crimes of lesser severity, including among these the crime of cruelty against animals declaring it a misdemeanor. This means that no torturer of animals will end up more in prison, and anyone is free to mistreat animals.
