Viv Wharton of ACTIN writes.
‘IN 2015 the PAES project – Proteccion animales España will be launched. This is a Project for any registered Associations and individual rescuers interested, who dedícate their lives to animal rescue.
The aim of the Project is to improve the welfare of animals in Spain and all aspects of that.
There is much to prepare and the success of it will depend on the collaboration of as many as possible to be involved, in order to make a powerful and dynamic quest for change for the animals in Spain.
Preparation for this requires collating as much information as possible from the organisations and rescuers, about rescued animals, photos, evidence, history, costs.
The information from all participants involved, will be provided to the authorities in the areas relevant to the rescues; this will be done in one massive co-ordinated movement.
We wouldn’t expect people to go back over a ong period of time but most associations should have their records, the individual rescuers may not have had a reason to keep them.. Vets bills, photos, a list of dogs that can easily be put together on a record for now and from now, everyone keeping their information.
It isn’t for Actin but for the project, I will explain more once the project is completely ready for launch. But for now people should be aware that if the authorities see how many and how much work people do and that we are saving them a massive job – then it will open their eyes.
Imagine how many dogs would be on the streets of Spain if it were not for the rescuers?

Viv,
Would it be relevant for organizations in the USA, that help rescue organizations in Spain, to compile information for this project?
Judy, you need to contact ACTIN direct through the weblink in the post. I’m just publicising it.
