REHOMING A GREYHOUND
I didn’t really want you, I wasn’t really sure
And I’ll admit I had my doubts when you came through that door
Not small, or cute, or fluffy, with big soft puppy eyes,
But tall and thin and bony, with bald pink bulging thighs.
We’re travelling over to the UK on 29th September (duty visit to aged parent) and will be bringing our foster dog, en route to his forever home. We arrive Portsmouth at 9.30pm, and need to find a dog friendly B & B for the night, not too far away, where we can have him with us, as he’s likely to be a bit stressed at yet another change in his life.
I’ve been on the Internet bot have not had any success, can anyone suggest a place to me?

This starving skeletal galgo is wandering the streets of Badajoz, next to a very busy highway; barely strength to stand; a volunteer is now taking him food and water but has nowhere to put him. Has anyone room foe him? xana.50@hotmail.es
UPDATE – FEPAEX have taken him in, he is no longer lost and on the street.
Have you signed up yet to receive Podenco Post, the sister weblog to Galgo News. If not, please do so. The podencos need help, just like the galgos. And podencos make fabulous pets. Give them a chance.
This is another sad casualty of hunting in Spain; this blind podenco was dumped in the Jerez perrera in December. It’s bad enough for all the dogs who can see, imagine not being able to see in that environment too. Luckily Silvia of Galgo Connection Spain in Valencia has taken him to give him a chance of a comfortable future life.
Update 05 01 2011 – Alphonso sadly crossed over the rainbow bridge today. At least in his last few days he knew the sound of kind voices and felt the gentle caress of caring hands.
And there is news in today about an injured podenco which has been taken to the vet by Galgos del Sol.
