Lourdes helps with a small association in Torre del Campo, Jaen. This galgo, now called Voyka, was recently rescued, and his movement is disco-ordinated. He has now been assessed by the vet and this is what Lourdes says.

Cordoba again, yet another galga and puppies. Here’s the report from El Arca de Noe Cordoba.
’23 Dec. I was driving along a road going to a store on an industrial estate when a galga crossed my path, her teats were very swollen. I had to brake hard so as not to hit her. She ran into the rough ground on the industrial estate, and I then saw she was not alone, there was another galga with her, and a puppy – the puppy is lame.
I try not to post really bad pix on GN because I don’t want to turn people away from reading about life for the galgos and volunteers in Spain. But I make no apologies for posting these photos of Lia, luckily she is with El Arca de Noe in Cordoba. Here’s the story and appeal, in the words of the volunteer.
‘WE HAVE RESCUED LIA AND SHE IS HOSPITALISED. SHE HAS LOST THE WILL TO LIVE, THE WOUND IS HORRIBLE, SHE IS BLEEDING FROM HER VAGINA A LOT. SHE CANNOT STAND UP. LIA WAS LETTING HERSELF DIE BUT WE REACHED HER IN TIME, ALTHOUGH WE DONT KNOW IF SHE WILL CONTINUE TO LIVE. BUT WE ARE TRYING AT LEAST.

These pups are at high risk, their mom is a galga (still no pictures of her), she is lame in one leg. We assume she has run for food for her babies and
goes in search of food leaving them alone with the risk that entails. Besides that, she goes through an area where there are many hunters and now it has started to rain.
