Dumped in a rubbish bin – Spanish galga Esperanza’s fight for life
Latest update on Esperanza, the galga some bastard tried to kill and dumped in a rubbish bin. What an amazing fighter she is, hanging onto life, and what an amazing team of people are helping her.
‘Esperanza’s surgery has finished. She is alive but she needs intensive care. Surgery has not been easy. Vets put needles and surgical cement to rebuild her broken vertebra. There is reserved prognosis, at least, until a couple of days, because her life is still in danger. Her health condition is delicate. If everything is OK, a new period of ten days will start.

Voice for the Voiceless – Galga Savia – please help the animals
This is Savia – she is blind! She was found by a Spanish girl and was living in a field near to the old mineworks on the outskirts of Mazarron. Noah’s Arc went to the field where they eventually found SAVIA laying in the sun. When they got near her she

Communicating with Animals –
Last weekend I treated myself to a weekend away – no lying in the sunshine by the side of a pool for me – rather joining half a dozen more animal lovers at a retreat in the woods of the Limousin region of France, for a weekend of learning to talk with animals! Joanne Hull, known as the Pet Psychic, was the tutor and she made the subject thoroughly fascinating and enjoyable. We students even got to practice too.
This is what Joanne’s website says about ‘talking with animals’.
‘Psychic simply means using your intuition on a telepathic level, animal communication is the SIMPLE ability to listen, which to you and me means to become sensitive, to use our intuition, our gut feeling, giving our minds, hearts and souls the permission to fully experience what an animal sees, feels and senses.

Humane Society International – can we enlist their help?
In November I received a circular email from Humane Society International in the US appealing for donations to help a team help Street Dogs in Bhutan. So I wrote and asked them to support our fight for protection for the Spanish galgos and podencos. Here’s a copy of their reply, and my response to them. If you wish to add your voice to mine, please write to them.

Sponsor a dog on Lanzarote, Tenerife, Ibiza – the best Christmas present!
It’s easy to overlook the problem for the abandoned dogs on the Spanish Islands, and so here’s a reminder of some of the associations who work extremely hard to save, care for and rehome these deserving animals. Podencos especially have a very hard life and their only hope of a future is off the islands on mainland Europe.
With Christmas coming up, why not think about Sponsoring a Dog. Here are links to the associations on Tenerife, Lanzarote and Ibiza who really need your help.
