  • SAGE – Save a Galgo Espanol in America

Another American galgo rehoming association just starting. SAGE – save a galgo espanol.

  • Galgos France bringing dogs for rehoming

Over the weekend of 23/24 February, Galgos France journeyed to Spain to bring back some galgos and other rescued hounds for rehoming in France. Photos here

With so many rescue associations in France, and with France having its own abandoned animal problem, I hear that it is getting harder to find adoptants for the galgos being brought out – seems to be a rescue every week.

  • Galga raped in Seville!

This is from my Facebook page Save the Galgo.

‘Sorry to bear bad news but this is the most disgusting thing I ever heard. In a marginal area in Seville a poor galga now named Abril has been raped by two men, if they can be called that. Abril is in Clínica Veterinaria blelavista in Seville. She has vaginal injuries and haemorrhages from the ordeal.

She might need a foster home or a forever home. I do not know more details but what it says in the clinic page… When you think you have heard everything these bastards manage to disgust with more barbarities.’

I remember reading a story a year or two back where some Spanish men raped a horse. I’m sure it’s not the only country where it happens, sadly.

  • Galgo pup Eros – saved from hanging!

Eros Levriers du Sud 250 2 2013This pretty little pup is Eros, in the care of Levriers du Sud. Only 5 months old, he was found by a volunteer who was walking her dogs. She saw this little galgo on a tree branch. She went over and realized that he had been hung to the tree but was able to climb on a branch saving his own life! Resourceful little guy!

It’s hard to believe that anyone would hang a young puppy… They can’t tell me that it’s because he was no good for hunting… he’s so young, he’s probably never hunted. It’s insane!

  • Moroccan Hackers beware

Just to let you know that you won’t be able to get on Galgos del Sol website, it’s been hacked by some Moroccan bastards! But their Fb page is ok.

  • Galga Estrela – saved from a Portuguese hunter – latest photo

Portugal Estrela 250 2 2013Here’s the latest picture of galga Estrella, rescued from an alcoholic hunter and druggie wife. Many of you wonderful readers donated to pay for special feed and vet bills for Estrela and two of her puppies rescued before the hunter could drown them. In a couple of weeks she will arrive chez moi, en route for her forever home in the UK. I am sooo looking forward to hugging her! Portugal Dog Rescue need just 70 euros to complete her pet passport and vaccinations before she leaves on 20th March. Please donate by Paypal
