Galgo Rescue International Network (GRIN) recently raised the funds to fly out a galgo and a podenco to adoptants in the US. The dogs were rescued by Galgos del Sol in Murcia, and accompanied on their flight by Charl del Rio of 112carlotagalgos. Federacion Espanola de Galgos – letter-writing campaign, write now!
I have now composed a letter to the Federacion Espanola de Galgos, the ‘umbrella’ association in Spain to which the other galgo hunting federations belong, and invite you to send copies also. Malaga perrera – galgos on death row – starving – anyone room for them?
This is the harsh reality for dogs dumped in the municipal and private perreras – killing stations. It’s any dog which suffers like this, not just the galgos. But for the galgos, it’s simply that hunting is drawing to a close and the galgueros are dumping their dogs. These dogs are/were in the perrera El Paraiso at Malaga (some have already been killed). Valencia & Badajoz perreras – more ‘disposable dogs’ from the Spanish hunters
Two more galgos in perreras. ALI is in Valencia perrera, she has had puppies at some time, no chip, no one claimed her. She’s about 3 years old, a bit timid but ok with other dogs, walks on a lead. Contact adopcioneslaperrera@gmail.com

International Dog Show, Milan – European Greyhound Network have a stand
European Greyhound Network is the Italian group helping galgos and many rescued dogs have found forever homes there. Next weekend they are having a stand at the 47th International Dog Show in Milan. The event will be in the pavilions of the Fiera Milano Rho on 14 and 15 January and EGN wil be in Hall 22 for the duration of the event. Galgueros murder galgos in Salamanca – UNESCO heritage city!!
The holocaust continues, the galgueros continue their vile deeds. But they are being found out, they are being ‘outed’, and we will continue to expose their hypocrasy – they claim they are kind to their dogs!
After Toledo, now Salamanca, west of Madrid in Castil y Leon, a hellish region for galgos. It’s also been declared a UNESCO Heritage Site. I bet the inspectors didn’t see this sight!

The Hell of Toledo – graveyard for galgos
You’re not wrong, this is a grave – a galgo’s grave. Toledo yet again! This is the story from Baas Galgo.
‘On December 18th we found a new cemetery of galgos in the province of Toledo. We received an anonymous phonecall telling us that at this point galgueros (hunters) massively kill and bury their dogs. There were 4 bodies in sight, put in sealed bags, in an advanced state of decomposition, two of them with microchip. Two galgos without chips had been hanged, some shot without a chip and several dogs which were only skeletons. We have made a denuncia and we await the results of the investigations by the Guardia Civil.’
