Yet another tale of the Spanish authorities not accepting responsibility for dealing with abandoned dogs. It’s about time they enforced – with a vengeance – the law which exists to protect dogs and other domestic animals. It’s time for the Spanish to stop hiding the disgraceful situation of the result of uncontrolled breeding of dogs and cats, cavalier abandonment of dogs and cats, the unnecessary cruelty and suffering it causes – time Spain woke up to realize that there are thousands of people around the world watching them…………

ACAN was created a few years ago by Mariangeles Salpico, to help the dogs of the perrera of Badajoz and others. She took the dogs home to the refuge she and her husband built on their own land, with their own hands. They cared for the dogs and worked on finding adoption homes for them, which included dealing with the vaccination, deparasiting, microchipping, blood tests – preparing them for a life away from the hell of Spain.
The creation of ANCAT followed, charged with rescuing the andoned cats in the perrera and the town of Badajoz. These cats were also placed at the refuge of Mariangeles.
All this is now at risk of closure, just because of a ” malnacido”, a malicious neighbour, who has decided to rui the life of this amazing woman, to c!ose the refuge. He says he does not support the refuge nor the work she does with the animals, and it causes a ‘nuisance’.
He has lodged complaints with all the official organizations of the Municipality of Badajoz. to achieve his goal.
Now Mariangeles has two months to empty the refuge and close it permanently.
Mariangeles is the only chance of a decent life for the dogs of the perrera of Badajoz. We MUST support Mariangeles.
Sign the petition of support with Mariangeles and affirm your disapproval of the decision of the Municipality and the order to close the refuge.
There is no future for the abandoned dogs and cats of Badajoz if this refuge is closed. Hundreds of animals will be massacres. The local authority MUST be made to act against this complaints of this

This lady MUST be supported in the invaluable work she does. Her refuge MUST NOT be closed but she should be praised and supported and awareness raised towards those unaware or involved in the cruelty and unacceptable behaviour shown by barbaric cruel owners – they should be the ones targeted. I for one will not be visiting Spain until this unacceptible behaviour is permentantly stopped and those involved severely punished.

These beautiful loving dogs and the volunteers who do such an incredible job for them deserve all the help they can get.
Spain MUST protect galgos, and enforce the law to protect abandoned domestic animals.
