Update on Karmel – keeping fingers crossed for her

5/02 Update on Karmel, my galga

As her breathing difficulties did not improve with antibiotic treatment, it was arranged that I take her to the Centre Hospitalier Veterinaire Alantia at Nantes (2 1/2 hours’ drive from my home) last Tuesday 3rd Feb. We spent 4 hours there, Karmel had an endocsomy, x-rays, blood sample taken for copious tests and analyses. The vets were perplexed. It was decided to keep her at the hospital for observation, until the results of the blood test are received, possibly tomorrow 6th. The hospital vet and my own vet had an extensive discussion last night, and I was updated today but, until I know more, suffice to say I miss her terribly around the house, not sleeping at night worrying about her…………………..you dog lovers know what I mean.

How is she doing now. Being dragged behind a car. Not uncommon but uncommanly cruel and sadistic.Poor galga she coulden´t escape just had to let them drag her poor emaciate body painfully along on the hard tarmac. They probably ment to kill her as slowly and painfully. What crime had she committed to warant such cruel punishment. At least she is safe now and in the best hands possibel. I sincerly hope she survives and gets better as that is the worst punishment for her cruel former “owners” Someone else showing the world what they failed to see namely the beauty of the soul they denined everything. Best wishes for her recovery and future life. Lisbeth Mønsted Larsen Greyhound Action Denmark.

    TypePadBonjour Lisbeth
Thank you for your comment on GN. I was amazed to see the recovery Paca has made from her horrific experience. She is understandably nervous around strangers, as we all were strangers to her, but I was so pleased to see how well the terrible wounds on her body were healing. The foster carers and vet have done an amazing job. Her off foreleg will need treatment at some stage in the future, possibly an operation, but she walked quite happily with hardly a limp, around the meadows at my home with the rest of the galgos we brought back. She has now gone to Paris with Beatrice, the association President. Thank you for your good wishes to her, which I am sure everyone will echo.
