This is what we need – prosecutions in Spain against animal maltreatment.
Proaniplant is accused of the ill-treatment of animals in what is the first
case of its type in Spain
The magistrate in the Provincial Court in Murcia has inspected video evidence supplied by the El Refugio animal protection group, and started the first ever criminal proceedings in Spain against an animal protection agency in Spain.

<http://protectorademurcia.org/> Proaniplant had 862 cats and dogs at its centre in Sangonera la Verde, being kept in dreadful conditions last year.
One of the witnesses in the case has said there were dead dogs inside the centre, wounded animals just left abandoned with both external and internal parasites, dead rats in the cages, and dead puppies. One ex worker said that here were also mentally challenged people living at the centre.
Proaniplant received grants from the local Town Hall, claiming to look after, feed and care for the animals.

Fingers crossed that El Refugio is successful in bringing criminal proceedings against Proaniplant.

Hi
Yes, wouldnt it be absolutely GREAT if for once
the judge would act with the rule of law and come down on the side of the
animals. The problem in Spain is that everyone from the government down to
regional and municipal plus court personnel are to a large extent corrupt!
I am told that the King of Spain hunts bears,
including mothers with cubs at foot…………….I am told that, I have no
proof but………..bit like the British Royal Family and hunting….they dont
support anything to do with saving animals, just shooting them or riding a hunt
for pleasure.
I know what I would like to do to
them…………and it would be done without anaesthetic and with a very sharp
knife!
Thanks for your continued support Valarie.

I saw this in the paper and would like to get in contact with the group. They were protesting outside the Murcia Cathedral!! Good Luck to them and I will be offering my support!
