The True Spain Exposed – What You Won’t See on Your Xmas Holidays!

In trying to track down if anyone knew who the hunters were – by name etc – who had these dogs packed in this trailer, or had vehicle registration numbers, I have been given the link to this site. It’s in German but if you click on ‘Translate’ you will be able to read about the way the galguerros keep their dogs – this is the REAL Spain!

If you click on this link, you will be able to watch some videos of galguerros hunting. I am sad to say that in the 2nd video from the top, the French hunters also transport their hunting dogs in similar trailers.

Whilst these dogs are not galgos, believe that the galgos are kept in similar conditions.

Also this videoBe warned, this video shows a wild boar, still alive, being attacked by the dogs in the photos above – bearing in mind they have been starved for days.

Just how sick in the mind are these galguerros?

Could this situation not be raised with the United Nations. We have the Society for the Protection of Animals in Canada (SPCA). Is there not an organization like that in Spain. These photos show neglect if not cruelty to animals. Psychologists now are saying that cruelty to animals is a sign that cruelty to humans is a short step away.

    Onni Milne,
I read your comment and you asked if there is any animal protection programs in Spain. I found one site, but it’s all in Spanish. Here is the site:therhttp://www.animanaturalis.org/ I am sure there is a translate button. I agree with you on that psychological finding that if someone shows that they are cruel to animals, there is a good chance that they will be cruel to humans. It is very true. Some people in Spain and Mexico are moving away from the whole bullfighting thing, which is good. I was watching a program on the Travel Channel and the host was visiting a friend in Mexico and their family is one of the many that is against bullfighting, it’s a step to help protect the animal.

this is awful….I don’t understand how these “humans” can find this type of brutality a sport, even if they did plan to use the boar to feed themselves. DISGUSTING!

    Hi
Thank you for your comments, which are very
interesting. The problem is that there are EU animal welfare laws, but
they cover farming, breeding, animal experiments, they loosely cover domestic
animals, but they do not cover hunting dogs. The Spanish hunters are
strong, and anyone reporting their abuse risks retaliation against themselves
and their families. Like the Mafia perhaps? There is also the
International RSPCA, the animal protection society of the UK, and they produce
literature for use in schools to educate children against animal abuse.
You are right, those who maltreat animals will do the same to humans, and a
galguerro will beat his dog before he beats his wife.
Thanks for reading Galgo News and
