Well done to the rescuer. What would we do without the kindness of people like this?!
Do hope dear little Peritas finds a lovely home.

    Hi
The volunteers do an amazing job rescuing the abandoned dogs in Spain, and for many involved in helping the galgos, it is an emotional and physical journey every year, with no let up.
So we have to support them as much as possible in what they do because, without them, the alternative does not bear thinking about.
I am sure Tina will bereassured to know so many people care.
Thanks for reading GN and for commenting.

Saw him this morning and he just cant stop sleeping. Hes so tired from being alone that he is just dehydrated and completely exhausted. I think he has a bad foot, I cant be sure but I have funds left over from all the generous donations so will get some advice and take him to the vet if need be. He is in with other puppies who just adore him. The puppies are approx 10 weeks and sleep on top of him even his head and he doesnt seem to mind. Bless his little cotton socks… hes beautiful.

I don’t understand how humans can feel no attatchment to animals. The only animal on earth that hates and treats other living things like it is here only for their amusement, then tosses it like garbage is human. I hope Tina, that he lives a long and well deserved loved life.

Hi. Peritas (now Usiles) is happily re-homed. He has been diagnosed with neurological problems as his hips and back legs are not working properly, it may be he was hit by a car previously. He is having treatment and I think today managed to walk over 100meters without needing a rest. Have a happy life Usiles and a big thank you to his new owner!!!!!!

Ulises (AKA Peritas) is recovering incredibly fast!!!
he is gaining weight and is walking better, and today he show us how fast he can run. What is better is that he run straight to his new home street-door, not trying to escape.
Thank to you Tina, to give us the opportunity to rise him.

Ulises…. run? When he was with us he slept, ate and poo’d and that was his lot, he was very depressed. If he is having a little run now his back legs must be recovering well, so well done. Keep us informed with how his vet treatment is going and best wishes with your new life together!!!

    Bonjour
I amsad that Peritas name was changed when
he was taken from the vet. Peritas was the name of the hound which
accompanied Alexander the Great on his military campaigns, therefore a very
regal hound of very high standing. Have to admit that I am extremely
superstitious about changing the name of any animal – none of mine have been
changed – especially it keeps continuity of the history of the
    animal.
It is to be hoped he receives the right care and
attention to help him recover from his injured hind quarters so that his muscles
and tendons grow in strength to be able to support his body when he is full
    grown.
I know the readers of Galgo News will be keen to
hear news of his progress and any pictures of him.
Thank you, Tina, for saving this little
    soul.

    Hi,
I caused a bit of a stir with the name Peritas because in spanish terms it is a very feminine name causing confusion amongst those enquiring but yes i had named him after the hound in your book! Will look up the next name ready for the next galgo!

    Hi
Not knowing Spanish very well, I presumed Perita
would be female, as in Senora. Hey ho, Peritas was still a highly revered
    hound.
Reassured to know that this little chap is getting
all the treatment and care he deserves.
