Anna Clements, Director of SOS Galgos in Barcelona, has sent out this urgent message.
Dear Friends,
Have you heard the exciting news? SOS Galgos has been kindly given use of a great location in Esplugues de Llobregat, exclusively to aid in the adoption of our dogs that are desperately in need. It is an amazing opportunity to create a space for adoptions and events that will benefit each and every dog that we save. However, we have this space for 6 months only! So what does this mean? We must act fast!!
What is our plan? For the next 6 months we plan to advertise ‘Adoption hours’ at this new ‘Adoption clinic’ for members of the public to come and see many galgos at once. This should increase greatly the number of galgos adopted. We know that without the help and support of you this gift of space cannot be a success.
What can you do to help?
It’s simple. Help us to quickly purchase kennels that will home the dogs during adoption hours. These kennels will be perfect for the size of our galgos and they are sturdy enough to be used again and again so it is an excellent investment for us.
Our immediate goal is €1250 for the purchase of 5 kennels. The faster we purchase the kennels the faster we can get this center up and running! Obviously the more money we raise, the more we can do. Every Euro will help! Can you help?

Totally agree with you about the treatment of all
animals in Spain, especially with those used in entertainment, fiestas and the
galgos for hunting.
No country is absolved from cruelty from animals,
but Spain is particularly ruthless, considering it thinks itself a Western
European Modern Civilisation.
Bulls..t, it is a 3rd world country and filled with
corruption.

The shame is that the government and regional,
provincial and municipal councils still allow all the horrendous cruelty to
animals to go unchecked – such as animals in circuses, fiestas, horse wrestling,
bull fighting, and the galgo holocaust in the name of tradition.
That is the shame of Spain.
