Live in the UK? Please support this Early Day Motion to save racehorses

I have been passionate about dogs and horses all my life. I still have two horses at my home in France; we have a lovely network of lanes and tracks to ride during the cool months of autumn, winter and spring – too much heat and too many flies in the summer!

My home in Suffolk was a mere 25 miles from the world centre of horseracing – Newmarket. I have always been sickened by the overbreeding of racehorses and I absolutely hate horse racing – especially ‘over sticks’ as jump racing is called.

So I’m pleased to publicise this appeal from Animal Aid , and hope my readers in the UK will support it.

‘Every year, thousands of Thoroughbreds are killed either as a result of injury or because they are deemed ‘no hopers’. Mike Hancock MP has tabled an important Early Day Motion (EDM) calling on the government to undertake a full audit of racehorse production, death and injury, and to make its findings public.

Please contact your MP right away and ask him to support this vital EDM.’
