Here’s the latest news from Galgos del Sol on the rescue of 74 galgos from a gypsy.
‘Seprona are taking action but every time they go to take the dogs, he has hidden them. Also if Seprona take them they are to be put down right away, I have heard, as there is no-where for them. So he is hiding them to prevent this but, at the same time, he doesn’t want to give us these ones as they are his trophy winners. I have said we can take 13, 3 of which go to L’Europe des Levriers, so am just waiting for the call.
Between all the associations involved, so far we have managed to save 51 of his dogs, which is great news.’
Thanks for the update, Tina, well done to everyone involved, it can’t have been easy – what you might call an emotional roller coaster!

I cited Tina on the local galgueros in the German forum I am in, hope it is all right. She wrote a very interesting comment on how they work with these galgueros that I copied into the forum.

I recommend this to anyone interested in galgorescue.
Tina should write an article about this in my opinion as most of the people have no clue what exactly is going on, how hard their work is.
I mean they obviously daily work with people, who are dog murderer.
But this is better than not to talk to these galgueros, as then the dogs would die and then the change all dog lovers are waiting for, would never come…

Thanks, yes its been a rollercoater. La Fortaleza also took 16 in total so they have done really well and Denia dogs 15 and of course the lovely Carmen who now has 8 in her home, I think we are now up to 54 rescued with GdS at 14 & on standby for more. I don’t know exactly what Sepronas plans are but I only heard that they would be put down, this isn’t anything I heard directly from them so I don’t know for sure…. this man continues to co-operate with us and we will work with him long term untill the situation is resolved.
And of course we had alot of support from all the wonderful people who donated to us and locally here in Spain ‘Andreas Animal Rescue & The Henrietta Foundation’ who have been a rock to GdS throughout this. We were also pleased and proud to donate 1000 euros of the donation money direct to La Fortaleza to help them prepare the galgos that they took.
you are all heros for these dogs bless you for what you do i know the heart ake what you go through and the expence on top of that also physical work involved so pleased there is rescues like you out there
