Catalunya hunter fined 19,000 euros for maltreating dogs

There were the remains of another 23 dogs, most of them buried, but one of the bodies belonged to an animal that had died poisoned a few hours earlier.

He also kept the dogs without food and necessary hygiene and health conditions and by not providing necessary veterinary care.

The events date back to December 2011 when DAR Foundation Animal Rescue Altarriba and documented the presence of 33 dogs in poor condition in a property of Montcada. The animals were confiscated days later by the Generalitat Rural Agents.

A HELL

“What we saw there was a hell of dirt, putrid water, chains and feces,” explains Karin Pielanen , DAR Animal Rescue, speaking on the forfeiture. “Those animals were pleading for their lives One dog licked my hands through the bars, it had a bad wound. On the day of the seizure, we found this animal’s body thrown in the trash, with a terrible wound in the leg. ” According to the autopsy, it had died from ingesting a chemical used in agriculture.

The legal expert claims that there are some hunters who keep their dogs “in wells, miserable, filthy, infected with unhealed wounds. They use the dogs for their particular hobby.
