IMMEDIATE CESSATION of killing dogs in PUNTA UMBRIA (Huelva), Spain
Created by: Observatory justice and defense Animal www.justiciaydefensaanimal.es, Spain
The Junta de Andalucía has authorized beating to death of dogs by members of the society of hunters of Punta Umbria, to kill animals abandoned in the streets of Punta Umbria, Huelva. It is urgent to halt the killing.
Pets abandoned to their fate are victims of the human carelessness and the lack of control measures by the Administration, which must always act in accordance with the legislation on animal protection imposed by the capture and handling of animals avoiding violent methods or that they pose harm to the animal.
Hunting for pets is immoral and illegal when alternative measures are in line with current legislation and with the popular feeling that rejects outright the murder and abandonment of hunting dogs and therefore that the hunters must cease these instructions urgently.
Currently there are technical means and human that make possible a humanitarian protocol with abandoned pets unless it is justified in any case hunting and shooting death of these dogs.

daniel you need to go on the website highlighted in blue it is confusing click on firma the one thats got peticion next to it its all in spanish name email and country
Signed! Every day more and more brutality. These are sad, pathetic excuses for humanity. I realise a lot of Spanish people genuinely care for animals but where are they and what are they doing to stop the slaughter? I see more evidence of cruelty than compassion. I feel for the rescues there, theirs must be a lonely job at times.
Once I get to the Change.org page, I’m ok. It’s getting there that’s not obvious here. If you’re a non-Spanish speaking person, like me, here’s what to do: Go to the Website highlighted in blue in this post above. Once on the site, look for FEBRERO 2013, then click on “Firma nuestra petición contra esta matanza aquí.” That will take you to the Change.org petition. There, it’s pretty obvious what the fields are, but if unsure, plop the words in Google Translate. It’s garbage for actual translation of entire paragraphs, but it does the job for simple words.

I couldn’t get the above link to work, but have posted two more in a separate post – both of which worked for me.
The Spanish people have a christian religion. Did´nt they learn to have respect for all the living beings, which God made?
Who are those killers think they are?
And next day going to church again?
I can’t and I don’t want to understand this!
Just when you think things can’t get much worse there, you’re alerted to some horror like this
I signed the petition
I’m also very sad to hear about this latest atrocity
What next?
Jenny, I’ve been wondering the same thing, and I’ve [tentatively] concluded that Spain is actually more advanced in addressing the problems concerning animal cruelty then many, many other places! Be assured that human nature is no more lofty anywhere else on the planet, but Spain is addressing the problem directly and openly. This does make it seem worse, but it’s not.
(Even Javier Bardem wears a Podenco tee!)
Spanish people must start and realise that we are in the 21st centuary not the 16th !!
I think it is disgusting that these poor animals are treated as such in a so called modern country. I wish we could all get together and organise a protest march, a peaceful one a) to bring awareness to the general public of the suffering and cruelty these poor animals receive and b) to push the government into making laws to safeguard these wonderful creatures.
hi jacqueline there is a demo getting arranged for sept outside the spanish embassy in london kim who follows gal and pod news is arranging it and beryl is helping out it would be great if you could make it and tell other people aswell the more the better
