Galga raped in Seville!

This is from my Facebook page Save the Galgo.

‘Sorry to bear bad news but this is the most disgusting thing I ever heard. In a marginal area in Seville a poor galga now named Abril has been raped by two men, if they can be called that. Abril is in Clínica Veterinaria blelavista in Seville. She has vaginal injuries and haemorrhages from the ordeal.

She might need a foster home or a forever home. I do not know more details but what it says in the clinic page… When you think you have heard everything these bastards manage to disgust with more barbarities.’

I remember reading a story a year or two back where some Spanish men raped a horse. I’m sure it’s not the only country where it happens, sadly.

It’s terrible being here, yet being helpless. I cry my eyes out daily, but that doesn’t help at all.

A national disgrace. Hang your head in shame, Spain. There is something very sick and evil going on when this type of barbarity happens.
Hope the Galga recovers and knows love and kindness in the future.

As I’ve said in a previous post – these people should be wiped off the earth. They deserve some of their own medicine. Utterly disgraceful!

Two wrongs do not make a right you must look at the big picture and try and forgive in your heart the people who did this awful act.You must lead by example fear and anger will not change anything only love and forgiving will make mankind respect all living things so we can all live in harmony.Anger and fear are not your friend these emotions hold mankind from moving forward to a more loving state, Blessings to all

Believe me – I try to live my life by setting a good example. But it is difficult to forgive anyone who carries out such atrocities. There is no excuse for cruelty – even to say they are ignorant is not excusable since Spain is an advanced country and people have access to new knowledge and understanding about welfare. The hunters are brought up to be cruel, it is there way; but many in the civilised world think these ways are wrong. If we should forgive then maybe we should also be accepting their ways? It is not their way to love or show compassion – and yes I hope one day their children will learn new ways. All I know is that killing, abuse, torture are morally and ethically unacceptable. My anger is what drives me to pick up a pen and write a letter of protest, it is what spurs me to stand out in all weathers fundraising. I accept my karma and I hope they will soon receive theirs. But to send love and light to those with hate in their hearts? No.

To jay i to have much love in my heart for my galgos and all living things i do not always understand why anyone can carry out such atrocities it is beyond me at times. But every journey begins with the first step the universe is always changing nothing stays the same there is no wright or wrong only what is please find it in your heart to forgive these poor souls so they my evolve to a place of love.I am sorry i cannot understand how you think anger will solve anything as it is a low vibration fogivness is of a much higher frequency and when you step back and look showing anger and hate you are no better than the ones who carried out the atrocities you are only mirroring there acts but in a diffrent way. Blessings

Hi Pauline, thankyou for your insightful and spiritual comments – I don’t think I actually said anger solves anything, nor did I say I hate these people. I pity anyone who cannot find it in them to show compassion to sentient beings that cannot defend themselves. I understand about vibrational frequencies – I work with energy healing on a regular basis. But I also accept that love alone, though a pure and high frequency, will not effect those with blackened hearts – I’m afraid I just don’t think it will happen in their current lifetime. Their lessons will not be learned in this lifetime but in the next. In the meantime we must do all we can to stop them from committing such hideous crimes against the innocent. If a man rapes a child should we forgive him or punish him? Should he be allowed to walk amongst us with our blessings? There will always be cruelty, just as there will always be kindness – there will always be yin and yang – there will always be balance. But it doesn’t mean I have to accept it or forgive. It is a very thin line between when we should act to stop something and when we should accept this as the way it is. Who are we to judge how another person lives their life?
I too love my galgo and greyhounds and my heart breaks to see one of my greys, even after 7 years of love and kindness, still be terrified of strangers after her early years of abuse. I’m sorry to say I cannot forgive or love her abusers who have robbed her of her confidence and trust so that she is afraid even to walk down a crowded street.
So, thankyou for comparing my actions to those of the animal abusers. We all have the ability to do vile things, I just choose not to! I pray that if people will not step in to put pressure on European Government to change their welfare laws than I hope the universe does. If pure love is what drives you to action, fantastic. I will reserve my love for those that deserve it, and let the Great Spirit or Divine love the rest. Thankyou.

Jay I agree with you, they are a danger to us and our animals. @pauline would you still have mercy with those criminals if they did it to you or your dogs?

Pauline I release my negative feelings each and every day! I heal myself every day. I just do not give my energies to those who use theirs in cruel ways – I leave that to the universe or Divine Spirit to deal with. I don’t want to appear as though I’m some crazy activist. I have to heal my heart every day because it breaks every day when I see and hear what people have done to innocent beings. I don’t consider myself to be better than anyone else – I am just me, I am only human and I feel ALL emotions. I don’t stand above anyone else I can only make judgements according to my own ethics and beliefs. If something makes me angry I don’t think it’s wrong to turn that anger into a positive action – at least I don’t just let the anger fester.
Beryl: I am sorry if my comments cause offence – it’s not my intention to make your wonderful pages my personal soapbox! I’m sorry if people think I’m being unkind. I just feel so many people comment on how awful things are but make no moves to change things. We all need to stand together and do whatever it takes to change welfare legislation so that animals are protected rather than abused.

Thank you all for some very thought provoking comments and for sharing your beliefs and feelings. I admire any of you who can forgive such cruelty to either an animal or even to a child. After many knockbacks through my life, belief in goodness in everyone and forgiveness are no longer words in my vocabulary. Retribution is, and an eye for an eye – which I understand from reading a comment somewhere else is mentioned in the Bible.
At the end of the day, we animal lovers sing from the same hymn sheet, even if the words differ slightly.
I understand Abril is recovering at the vet clinic, which is more than can be said for the poor young woman in India earlier this year.
Thank you everyone for caring and commenting.

Katharina – I don’t know how we would tackle the whole issue of forgiveness against ‘punishment’ or ‘rehabilitation’ as it is now called! I have, over the years, met and talked with animal abusers, hunters, gypsies etc. Rarely have they felt remorse for what they did even after ‘rehabilitation’. Their response – that’s why we are at the top of the food chain! Animals are here for us to use, abuse and throw away. It’s very sad and frustrating. But I know every day that I look into the eyes of my abused greyhound and I see her sadness and torment that she is more deserving of my love than any abuser ever could be! I don’t believe it makes me any less ‘spiritual’, it just means I’m human and have flaws!

if this was a one off icelated incident maybe just maybe if the person who did this horrid act realized that they had done wrong and was deeply sorry for what they have done we could find away but when its repeatedley going on day after day night after night in any way possible to torture and kill these poor dogs i will never forgive now they are sick evil twisted shits in my eyes and like i have said befor if all the abuse stopped tomorrow i will never forgive them for what they have already done these dogs are made of flesh and blood like all animals and feel pain and fear things in the same way us humans do just imagine some nutter grabbing you and putting you through hell knowing at the end of this ordeal you may die can you imagine the terror the pain ect you will go through no one there to help you this is it this is the end all the thousands of animals gone through that with no one to help it sodding breaks me every appeal i see i want to put my harms around them and tell them its ok and the ones who are found dead i wish i had of been there to save them even if i had took a beating myself poor poor souls

Jen, I understand totally! We can only begin to imagine the fear and pain these precious souls go through every minute of every day. I look at all the greyhounds I’ve helped find happy homes – and the galgos I’ve helped find forever homes in UK and kow at least I’ve done something. But then my thoughts always go to the ones I couldn’t help and realise that what I do is a tiny tiny drop in a huge ocean of despair for these innocent creatures. These days, there’s no excuse for cruelty, not in supposed civilised countries. They know better, they just choose to be evil and hide behind tradition and culture to make it all ok. And lets not forget, poor Abril suffered abuse which is so obscene it is inhuman and not even part of ‘culture’ or tradition!!

  19. jenny avatar

culture and tradition just a lame excuse for abuse in my eyes animals ant on this earth for our use they have the right the same as us humans do to live their life free untill nature takes over you know since i learnt about whats going on with these poor dogs 2 half year ago i ant been the same a little part of me is taken each time i hear of a poor galgo or podenco been killed its awful

Pauline, really? How happy clappy. Is love and forgiveness going to stop certain countries wiping out the African Elephant for their ivory? I don’t think so, they are motivated by greed and have no compassion for our fellow creatures. What is needed is action, strong action, not a lecture from someone in a karmic trance. I feel sick and angry reading about this appalling depraved act towards a defenceless animal. Love and forgiveness isn’t going to solve it but a jail sentence might. Proper laws are needed to protect animals. Strong action by the government is needed to protect the galgo. It is the people who are rescuing them who I so admire, hard , heartbreaking work day after day, wondering when the cruelty will ever stop, wondering where the money is coming from to look after these much abused dogs. These men who hurt this innocent galgo, personally I would like to chop their u know whats off. Quite frankly if you think that only love and forgiveness will ensure that we will all live in a world of harmony then you are quite frankly, totally and utterley deluded.

Jenny, I feel just the same as you. I found out about the galgos seven years ago and adopted two. My girl is now 14 and an angel, a sweeter more gentle dog you could not hope to meet. My heart is broken every time I read about the cruelty inflicted on these gentle dogs. I just feel so powerless. I love my beautiful galgo, I donate to try and help but it’s not enough. How can anyone do such terrible things to these wonderful dogs?

  23. Grey avatar

I don’t know anyone else with a galgo, so it’s nice to speak to someone about them. Unfortunately my boy died over a year ago now. We had him for five years but he had really suffered in Spain and was really ill in the last year of his life. We loved him so much, he was a lovely gentle boy. We now have a rescue greyhound as well as my galgo girl. My galgo is from Greyhounds in Need. I am new to galgo news and although I have had my galgo for seven years, I have only recently been finding out about all the different rescues. I am sure that you will love having your galgo, they are just wonderful.
