A heart for galgo Prince – have you room for him in yours

Charl Prince 250 10 2013Stunning boy Prince has been at 112carlotagalgos for many months, partly because he was very ill when he arrived and he needed time to get well. Here’s what Charl writes about him.

RE.INTRODUCING PRINCE FOR ADOPTION!

Due to circunstances out of Princes control He is now back “in adoption!”

I will never forget the day I saw Prince’s case. The way his beauty coupled with best buddy Odie stole my heart. I thought ‘someone will rescue you, you’re stunning. Only 2 days in the perrera to go before killing and I’d decided if his case came around again I’d take them. Sure enough meant to be, it did. And I did.

Bowled over in beauty but saddened by the neglect Prince had siffered, he arrived weighing in at 15 kilos! Aside being dumped by his galguero with Odie he’d been the weakest of the pack in the perrera.. if you can’t grab the food off the floor.. you don’t eat! Concentration camp springs to mind. Appallingly the reality.

112 carlota Prince on arrival 250 1 2013He arrived and Odie cried and cried. Prince was in the clinic a week and as soon as he came back Odie settled. Prince came home leish positive, he had elephant legs, and was tremendously poor. On coming out of the clinic we hand fed him, opening his mouth and making him swallow. He really should have died. BUT he didn’t. Combined effort of the family. Sofia sitting and telling him all about why he should live, Marianne helping the 15 minute feed bursts and then he found his spark.. the will to live.

All we had worked for, all we had wanted.

He began to drink home cooked broth, pasta, stews, fish. A special visitor and forever friend Martin Usborne from ‘A Year to Help’ came and saw before his eyes all he had come to see. Prince called upon the British public in the Daily Mail .. to tell them all about the plight he had lived through and what his siblings still have to go through. His friendship blossomed with Martin. He became known as “A HEART FOR PRINCE!”

Well.. Prince is now ready for adoption. DO YOU HAVE A HEART FOR PRINCE?

castrated
negative filaria erlichea
vaccinated
chip
Passport
positive/ treated medically Leishmania

His best friend Odie leaves for USA in October. I find them still lying together. They went through hell together.. and now.. soon they say their goodbyes. There has to be a way for Prince to find his forever home as well as Odie.

A heart for Prince… is he in your heart?

Oh my goodness, that has made me cry. Beautiful Prince and Charl is a total angel. Whoever adopts him will be so lucky, brave and gorgeous boy that he is. I can’t imagine that he will be waiting much longer. Thank you Charl for what you do for the galgos. I will be making a donation in the next few weeks.
