And another poor galgo needing help, with another small shelter in Seville.
This young galga has been named “REGALO” (gift in spanish), she was found with a badly broken jaw and a severe infection. She has been taken in by the shelter La Candela Hogar Refugio near Seville and is in Malaga at a vet hospital with strong antiinflamatories and antibiotics.
‘Ariel Sarabria, our veterinary expert in trauma has operated on Regalo. He managed to implant the prosthesis and nails to knit the bone to return it to function and enable Regalo to open and close her mouth, to give her the most normal life possible.
She will be a few weeks at the clinic monitored 24 hours. It is a huge risk for the success of the surgery, to minimise the risk of an infection. Mary, her foster, is waiting to give her all the necessary care when she has finished her stay at the clinic.
They say she is a lovely bitch and despite the suffering that has happened, is affectionate and eager to live. Here’s a video after surgery.’
Refugio La Candela needs urgently help to finance the very high vet bills caused by REGALO’s severe injuries. Please help them to save REGALO and pay the bills, thanks.

aw poor girl this is the one thing i dread for tess one of my girls i know how the healing process is very intensive for this sort of op thats why i wont have tess done she is nearly 11 half now the going under alone is a risk so i am opting not even for the scale because of the risk because no point i having the top ones moved if we cant have the bottom ones moved without breaking the jaw she wouldnt make it and having them cleaned wont make a difference because of the problem inside the gums the teeth need to be moved so i will carryon doing the bathing of the gum every night and put her bk on pain killer she is on and off with ppain killer she still eats drinks plays and goes for her walks so while she is doing that i will keep her going on pain killers this poor girl may stand a chance with her been so young i do hope so poor little girl i will donate tomorrow at this rate with all the donations wont have no money left but do what i can for these poor little souls
seen the vidio she looks ok for now thinking of her bless this little one
donated for this little girl
any news on this little baby beryl
I just put through a donation for Regalo via paypal.
so nice to know there is other donations going through johanna the rescues need every penny just wish i could help more by addopting another galgo but have 4 dogs 2 greyhounds rescues and a galgo and a dalmation i wont be able to addopt for a while yet and i know kathryn is always donating aswell and i know there will be people elswhere donating
I will be donating tomorrow. Jenny, you do such a lot and really care. It’s wonderful that you have four rescue dogs. I wish I could adopt another dog but just can’t at the moment, which makes me feels sad. Poor Regalo, I hope she is getting better and stronger.
Dear Jenny, how wonderful that you have adopted dogs. Unfortunately I cannot have dogs in my current living situation, but I try to help in other ways. We are now preparing a campaign for the EU elections – trying to get people to vote for those candidates who will work for animal welfare. The dogs are excluded from the EU animal welfare legislation, which is totally unbelievable.
why does that not surprize me johanna re exclusion of dogs from eu legislation well at least you are doing what you can to help in otherways hope your circumstances in living situation change in the future so you can addopt its a great experience and it makes you sronger in the fight for them especially when you experience first hand true rescue you have the chance of the change for the better for that one or 2 dogs at least but with me i feel its not enough for me i really do want to addopt another but only live in a 2 up 2 down and not as fit as i use to be so the only time i think i would be addopting again is when sadly one of mine go to sleep or ifi come into big money i have lost 3 in the past 4 and ahlf years it totallly crubles me but i know there is millions of others out there waiting well the lucky ones waiting in rescue for thier forever
the people from the LA CANDELA shelter say thank you for your helpfull donations. REGALO is at the vets in fostercare but doing well after the surgery.
the volunteers from La Candela are overloaded with dogs as they are one of the groups who rescued the biggest group of Mairena dogs. so pls forgive them for not updating. as soon as they have time I will post the news about REGALO
Good news about this girl. I will put another donation through as soon as I can. Thank you to La Candela for taking so many Mairena dogs.
