Ferria of 100 x 100 Mascotas (Pets) Madrid – SOS Perrera Badajoz speaks out

Badajoz Queen Sofie 250 5 2014Her Majesty, Queen Sofia of Spain, visited the exhibition of IFEMA in Madrid where they were holding the Feria of 100 x 100 Mascotas (Pets) at the weekend.

The Queen very kindly stopped at the stand of SOS Perrera Badajoz and listened attentively to the explanations of Jorge and Noemi, two of our volunteers, about our work and the situation with the dogs in the perrera.

She was touched to hear about Dora’s case, who received lots of stroking from her, and at the end, she was interested in our claims against the Town Hall of Badajoz and took away with her a complete dossier and documentation about our denuncia.

THE TOWN HALL OF BADAJOZ, devoid of sensitivity and empathy towards the very animals that it ought to be protecting, looks away as though it is nothing to do with them and gives us no response, but HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN is interested and concerned about the suffering of the animals in the perrera.

Draw your own conclusions. We hope that when this news reaches the Mayor and the other town councillors of Badajoz (and we hope that this photo and article will be Shared enough so that they will know) that they hold their heads in shame for their attitude.

I have read that the Queen of Spain is a very sensitive lady, a vegetarian and an animal lover. I am glad that she is interested in this. I hope her interest in this is well publicised. The town councillors should most definitely hang their heads in shame.
