Lucas is a podenco/galgo cross rescued from a street in Hellin. He will need a lot of medical care, it is believed that he has mange, ehrlichia and leishmania. He was stoned by a group of older kids. Yesterday we rescued a galgo which had been shot in the head in Presteigne, Cordoba.
The galgo has been called Lord and was rescued by Angeles, the poor dog alone in a village of savages, she had to take the galgo and take it to our clinic urgently Alfaros in Cordoba. Lord has lead shot in the throat and lead shot all over the head.
The vet is hoping that he lower the inflammation to operate. There is serious risk he might not survive!. Lord was with other two abandoned galgos, a black one that just rescued and the other older one which has now disappeared and has probably been killed. We do not know the name of the person with the gun. We need to know it so we can go to the Guardia Civil to file the complaint.
If anyone knows the area of Presteigne or Adamuz please tell us if you know who did this galgosdelsur@gmail.com and we will bring him to justice. We’re going against the killer with all the means allowed by the law.
The Asociacion Galgos del Sur fight every day so not to commit these atrocities. Our situation is very complicated live in an area where the abandoned and mistreatment of galgos is daily, we have 75 dogs in our care, €5000 of monthly expenses between residence, emergency veterinary treatment, analyses, vaccines, etc. We cannot complete. We need help for Lord’s veterinary costs that are already more than €700 with the necessary operation.

Disgusting, sickening – what is wrong with these people (I use the term loosely, mindless thick depraved thugs more like). So deeply upsetting dogs being stoned, shot, scum bags these people are. I will make a donation to Galgos del Sur next week when I get paid.
