Calga Kiara – beating the axe attacker

Update on galga Kiara, the victim of an axe attack. Charl says, ‘Kiara’s health is good. She’s improving daily and swimming helps so much. Her rehab is good and physio doing well.
The damage left cannot be sewn or fixed. There’s some nerve damage done from her wound. But she can lead a normal life. She will need care and attention and still needs a few more weeks to gain more strength and encourage more movement in her tail. To move to one side isn’t possible as such.. this doesn’t impede her. We thought the tail was dead and would hinder. So in terms of recovery it’s ten fold. That we aim for a little more.. we will keep trying. Raw pain must have run thrpugh every ounce of her being, I still cringe at the thought of what she was suffering when I saw her. For now we continue to ease her from strength to strength. ‘
