This poor galga is called Lucy. She was taken to the Scooby refuge in the middle of July, in this state. Cobie tells her story.
16/7/2015. This sweet little galga girl is Lucy, she´s 5 months old and was saved a few weeks ago from the perrera provincial from Valladolid by Scooby. The police had taken her there because she was walking on the street although she had an owner which was a gypsie. That person had done nothing about the severe mange she was suffering of and her whole body was covered in blood, infections and bad wounds. She was in a lot of pain and was very depressed because of the bad state she was in. Nobody wanted to go near her because they thought she was like a monster and they feared to be infected by her illness. So she got worse and worse every day until she got to this state. Poor girl. She has a long way to go to full recovery but she will get all the time she needs to become a gorgeous galga. She is in the clinic in Medina now and surrounded with love, attention, good care and medicines.
Lucy was suffering from sarna demodecica pioderma (mange) and malnutrition. how much time has this poor puppy been left to get to this horrible state? Hungry, terrified, enduring terrible pain, blood coming out of her skin and great wounds to her legs.
We still do not understand how there are human beings capable of getting rid of an animal sick in this way.
In spite of everything, Lucy has been lucky. She was safe with Scooby and received lots of treatment and care from the vet team.
For us, Lucy is not a monster, is an angel, is sweet, quiet and good. Just wants to be able to be a happy galguita. She was treated with anti-inflammatory, painkillers, and ivermectina shampoo. This pup has already suffered too much because of the human being, but we can prove between all that not all humans are equal.
28/8/2015 Lucy arrived here the 16th July from the perrera provincial from Valladolid who kindly offered to sacrifice her because she was in such a bad state. Thank you for the offer but no thanks, Scooby will do all that´s possible to make her better and she was brought to the clinic in Scooby Medina. On 28th August, Lucy went to her forever home in France like this…
Scooby does incredible work for all animals, they have hundreds in their care, many needing medication, all needing feeding. Please help.

I am so happy that she has found her forever home. I hope the person who abandoned her suffers the same fate – left to die on the streets with no human lending a hand.
Thank goodness for carers like Scooby and the rest of the refuges that help galgos.
Poor darling girl…I shall donate to Scooby. Thank you to everyone who helped her.
Look at what a wonderful job Scooby have done with this girl. Thank you Scooby, I will donate at the end of this month.
