Galgo injured and left for dead –

We are always amazed at the courage of the galgos who – despite horrendous injuries and bad treatment – fight for life when they are rescued.  This is the story of just such a black galgo – now named Galileo – rescued badly injured and starving at the roadside near Carmona in April.  He was rushed to the vet clinic at Malaga where they feared he would not be strong enough to survive the anaesthetic to repair his shattered front legs.

But Galileo knew the sound of kind voices, felt gentle hands and knew that help was on hand to save his life and heal his injuries. It has been a long journey but Galileo is now receiving physiotherapy to walking again.  On 17th September he will join other galgos making the trip from Spain to France with Levriers sans Frontieres – where he will be adopted and loved for ever.

Bless him – and all those that cared for him.
Wishing him lots of love in his new life.

The people who saved this dog are wonderful. They bring me hope that there are good people out there. He has his own outdoor apartment! There is an article on there about people not wanting the black male dogs. What is wrong with people? Three out of four of my dogs have been black. I have a big black male greyhound, in rescue for seven years. He is lovely, nothing wrong with him. I wish people would adopt for the right reasons. Black dogs are beautiful.
