March for the greyhounds in Manchester 30th June 2016

Caged Northwest walk  400 30 6 2016
From Caged North West. We are currently liaising with the police, ambulance service, our insurance company and Manchester local authority.
Manchester will be hosting some very large public events on the same day as the March for The Murdered Million, and we have worked very hard to find spaces that will accommodate a gathering of anything up to 500 people, that may attend.
We have advised all involved that this is a funeral themed greyhound remembrance march and will remain respectful throughout.
PLEASE NOTE; THIS IS NOT A PROTEST

Please respect the purpose of the march – Other parallel events will take place and will also be following the same theme.
To all attending, we ask that you take great respect in following the funeral theme and also in minimising any hazards on the day.
No banners – as all placards supplied will be small, respectful and colour coded
Please make an effort to wear black or very dark clothing
Black funeral armbands or ribbons will be available on the day, but you are welcome to bring your own
Please consider your dogs safety and the safety of others;
Please do NOT bring nervous, excitable or very old dogs – If it is a very hot day, we advise you leave your dogs at home for their own safety.
Please ‘avoid’ bringing prams to avoid people tripping over, or dogs paws being injured as space may be restricted in some areas
Where possible, please double lead your dogs using harness and collars
Please ensure you pick up after your dogs and that they are well provided for throughout the march
Stewards will carry emergency supplies for both people and dogs – If you have any difficulties on the day, please don’t hesitate to approach a steward.
All stewards will be identifiable, by high visibility jackets with Caged NW written on the back.
We have been advised that specific rules do apply to the meeting area ‘which we will announce on the 15th July’ and we will expect people to comply with these rules, to avoid jeopardising any future events that we may carry out.
If you are in possession of a first aid certificate and would like to apply to assist on the day, please contact us, we would love to hear from you; info@cagednw.co.uk
Short speeches will be held on the day by the following greyhound protection and rescue groups;

Birmingham Greyhound protection ‘Greyhound Protection and Rescue Team’
Shut Down Belle Vue group ‘ Grass Roots Campaign Group’
GreytExploitations ‘ Greyhound Protection’
