Update on Polar – looking into Turmeric

The results of Polar’s recent xray unsurprisingly showed calcification of his damaged leg joint bone and arthritis. So the option of an operation to insert a prosthesis joint is negative. Since the leg doesn’t bother him nor hinder him from chasing around with his galgo housemate Bracken, the decision is to leave well alone.

Having treated him so far with MSM, I’m now looking into moving on to Devil’s Claw, which I find successful in treating my aged horses and also my first greyhound, back in the 1990’s. I’ve also been recommended to look at Turmeric, for which a retired English greyhound is being successfully treated, belonging to a friend. She purchases the product, then freezes it in a coffee bean mould and adds the required dosage to the dog’s feed daily. This is the weblink to the Turmeric under the name Golden Paste, and the coffee bean mould.

Have any readers had experience of using Turmeric for their canine?

    Sending healing hug to Polar.
Know turmeric is supposed to be good for humans, but don’t know about dogs.

Sorry Beryl, never heard of this, hope Polar’s leg isn’t hurting him. Sounds good though if he can still run around.
