Protectora Scooby – feeling the effects of lockdown

Scooby appeal during lockdown 3 2020 400
So many shelters will be suffering as a result of lockdown – animals can’t be transported to their forever homes. Here’s an appeal from Scooby, but many other associations will be feeling the same.

‘We are very worried about our animals and their future, you know that we managed to get many dogs and cats adopted by collaborating with other associations of countries such as France, Italy, Netherlands, Czech Republic or USA.

We are clear that if it were not for the help from outside Spain it would be impossible for us to rescue so many animals because Spain’s adoptions in global computation mean less than 15 % of total adoptions…, and what if the animal shipments for the theme of coronavirus? Before lockdown, there was a scheduled trip to Milan and this could not be made, this means that animals have to stay longer with us, and the worst, that while some do not leave we can not help others because we have no place to help others.

How many sick or injured animals are still waiting, this is being a very hard start to the year because of these cases, a number of abandoned greyhounds have been shot this year too and then there’s all the litters of puppies…, we are overflowing and very worried and we need money to deal with this situation. We do not know how long it will be extended or if it will improve.

For all these reasons, we invite you that if you were thinking about adopting, this is the best time, it also helps us a lot that you can be a foster home and if you can’t but want to help us keep this going you can collaborate in other ways:
