Chincheta may lose her paw…
Until when? When will the mistreatment of these innocent beings stop?
A few days ago we were asked for help for her. Her story? The same as always: her former owner didn’t want her anymore and urgently wanted to get rid of her. We are up to our ears, with still almost 600 animals in the centre. With the bills of Buda, Simeon, Pipa and many other hospital patients still to be paid. But it was impossible to see her picture, her eyes and her gaze to say no….
Chincheta has arrived this very morning to our centre and our vets were surprised to see the fracture of her paw, because it is old and already ossified and however, Chincheta is a young dog, so she must have broken her paw when she was still a puppy and never had any medical attention…
Now our vets are faced with the usual problem: try to save her paw with surgery and months of rehabilitation, or take the hard decision to amputate if there is no solution. We are waiting for the assessment of our trusted traumatologist. Hopefully there are possibilities for her… Help us save Chincheta
Little podenco Picolina has a similar problem.
Picolino’s bad leg
Shy and really sweet. This is little Picolino, a little still baby who has arrived at our center. She has an injury on his paw somewhat complicated and it is that he doesn’t have a fracture as such, but the femur completely dislocated and therefore the entire knee joint damaged.
Her injury is really complicated and our vets have thought the worst and that she even needs to be amputated, but the truth is that she looks like she has a chance with a special surgery and a fully customized plaque. And even though we’re not on a budget yet, a custom plaque adds a lot to the bill…..
Our goal is to keep saving lives, but the hunters don’t keep galgos and more galgos coming in, and cases of traumatology constantly…
