3 abandoned galgo puppies now safe with Galgos Rescue Almeria

From Galgos Rescue Almeria

A couple of days ago while we were on our way to a vet appointment with sick Podenca Amira, we received an unexpected call from our vet in Huércal-Overa. Three Galgo puppies had been abandoned at the practice, and the question was simple but urgent: can you help?

Apparently, the three little ones had already spent three days in a small yard, without food or water. The police were contacted, but unfortunately, they didn’t respond immediately. Fortunately, a concerned person took matters into their own hands and eventually brought the puppies to the vet. Thanks to this act of compassion, they are now safe.

The puppies are estimated to be about five to six weeks old—far too young to survive without their mother. But their difficult start is giving way to a hopeful future. Today they received their very first shower, fresh water, and a bowl full of delicious food. For the first time in days, they were able to relax.

We will soon be holding a name auction for these three sweethearts, so they can not only find a home but also an identity that suits them.

Thank you Annik and daughter for all the help with transport.
