Letter to Senor Galguero revisited
In March 2013 I published this ‘Letter to Senor Galguero‘. Sadly all it expresses still applies today. The Hunting Federations have not improved matters – no controlled breeding of galgos, no mass abandonment, still keeping them in dark underground locked bunkers….what has changed is that there are now millions of Spanish people who are thoroughly ashamed of the bad press the hunters bring to their lovely country and protest vociferously every year throughout major cities in Spain.
Fermin Perez Martin of Scooby Medina presented a Spanish translation to the Federation of Galgueros when he was in dialogue with them to try and improve the situation. Needless to say, the galgueros refuse to acknowledge they cause a problem!
We must keep supporting those fighting the cruelty perpetrated on galgos by the galgueros in any way we can.
Please feel free to share the ‘Letter’but ensure that I am credited as its author.

The Shame of Spain
Copied translation from my Save the Galgo facebook page.
It is worth reading this text. Excuse the hardness of the drawing.
Written by María Yolanda Cuevas Romero.
DOG POUNDS, FIELDS OF CONCENTRATION AND EXTERMINATION.
If creatures are not rescued from the hell of the kennel to creatures, who also carry a history of abandonment and previous mistreatment, … they are going to kill them.
“To be sacrificed” they call it, as if it were an offering to some god. But no: they are talking about annihilating them, fulminating them, poisoning them.
This is our daily bread throughout our country: to kill under the auspices and the approval of public administrations, local corporations, justice agencies, …

Galicia, Spain – penalising people who help stray animals
There is a law which allows authorities to penalise people who help stray animals. I published about it recently when Malaga put up posters warning people they would be fined 500 euros for helping stray animals! Galicia province is now proposing to enforce the law, so please sign this petition to protest about it. The petition will be printed off and handed to the authorities.

Galga pup – abandoned injured at 3 months old – victim of galgo rape?
And here is the result for one of the victims of Galgo Rape as in the post below!
A sad little galga puppy, only 3 months old, and already she is no good. Abandoned with a broken leg, it’s cheaper to dump her than to operate. Because she’s no good. Her siblings int he litter will have seen the galguero one morning take her away and she doesn’t come back….. they’ve seen it so many times. But what they don’t know is that she’s not alone. She’s now rescued, doing the impossible to save her. And one day, she will have a loving forever home. Safe.

Galgo Rape – sign the petition!
This uncontrolled breeding of galgos HAS TO STOP! This is nothing short of rape! Please sign and share the petition.
That is the galgas for the hunters: raped, forced to give birth again and again until they get rid of the dogs when they are no longer useful.
