Further to the recent post about discarded greyhounds suffering inhumane treatment in a Texas canine blood bank, here is the reply from PETA and asking for further action.
ACTION ALERT
Dear Friend,
Thank you for acting in behalf of the approximately 150 perpetually penned greyhounds who neurotically spin in circles, jump up and down, cry out, and hide in old chemical tanks at The Pet Blood Bank, Inc., in Cherokee, Texas, where they’re farmed for blood products.
Thanks to your quick action, the kennel’s main distributor, Patterson Veterinary Supply, Inc., announced on Friday night that it had stopped doing business with The Pet Blood Bank.
While Patterson claimed that it “work to support … efforts to ensure that the animals receive appropriate care,” questions and requests regarding the specific, tangible ways in which the company will assist the dogs have been ignored.
This corporate giant, with sales of nearly $3 billion in 2016 alone, has not yet come through, despite being put in touch with a greyhound-rescue group that’s standing by ready to help.
Please urge Patterson to do right by these dogs, whose blood products it has distributed and profited from for years.
Please kindly comment on its Facebook page (if you are on fb)
And then call its parent company, Patterson Companies, at (US) 651-686-1600.
Please ask what Patterson plans to do to help these dogs get out of The Pet Blood Bank. Let the company know that you and caring people everywhere look to Patterson now to use its resources to secure the dogs’ surrender to reputable greyhound-rescue contacts, who stand ready to get these dogs to safety. This is the least that the company owes these long-neglected animals.
Thank you for acting again in these dogs’ behalf!
Sincerely yours,

One response to “PETA – more action needed on the Pet Blood Bank Inc maltreated greyhounds”
I am not on Facebook but have found an email contact for this company and have sent an email this morning. I hope that they are inundated with complaints.
