Anna Clements, Director of SOS Galgos in Barcelona, has sent out this urgent message.

Dear Friends,

Have you heard the exciting news? SOS Galgos has been kindly given use of a great location in Esplugues de Llobregat, exclusively to aid in the adoption of our dogs that are desperately in need. It is an amazing opportunity to create a space for adoptions and events that will benefit each and every dog that we save. However, we have this space for 6 months only! So what does this mean? We must act fast!!

What is our plan? For the next 6 months we plan to advertise ‘Adoption hours’ at this new ‘Adoption clinic’ for members of the public to come and see many galgos at once. This should increase greatly the number of galgos adopted. We know that without the help and support of you this gift of space cannot be a success.

What can you do to help?

The bestiality and cruelty of men knows no bounds. An abandoned galga in the hellhole of Badajoz, was being fed by a volunteer, trying to catch her, has returned now kicked in the mouth to break her jaw. This is an appeal for donations to pay the vet fees for the rebuilding work.

There’s just over one more day to place your bids for the items on the Galgo News Ebay Auction this week – and this is the final week. Remember, you can bid in any currency, and all funds will go to help galgos in need in Spain.

This is the last week of the Galgo News E-bay auction, which has been a lot of work for the organisers but great fun for the participants! Of special mention this week is the donation of a Vintage Wedding Dress – come on, folks, place your bids for the last week of the auction; currency no problem, bid in your own currency. And remember, ALL funds raised go to help the galgos in Spain.

All funds raised will go to help galgos in Spain.

Galgo News E-bay Auction – new items this week – come on, everyone, get your bids in. It doesn’t matter that the bids are in dollars, friends of mine have bid from the UK in sterling, and France in euros. So get on in there, lots of wonderful items this week, and all proceeds will go to galgos – for example, Scalibor collars are badly needed now in readiness for the sanfly season in May – which causes leishmaniosis.

The Galgo News auction on e-bay is now running; here’s what Carla, the organiser, says.

‘In order to buy on ebay you have to set up an account – which also may mean adding a credit card.

The auctions are run from Sunday to Sunday – when the current items are over new items will be there for 7 days. I will run 4 (7) day periods to maximize the sales. So basically NEW AND EXCITING ITEMS each week. So bid high and bid often – look each week for what’s new!’
