  • Protectora Scooby – donations needed for big vet fees please

    Scooby injured galga 400 11 2021
    From Scooby Protectora.

‘The abandonment of galgos begins. It’s the season to use galgos to hunt hares and therefore discard and throw away those who don’t do their job well. The easiest thing is to abandon them and here is one of the consequences of that abandonment.

A run over Galguita that is already admitted for surgery.

Unfortunately, experience tells us that this young lady won’t be the last galgo we collect in these conditions or similar so we’re going to need help to cope with the extra expenses that fall upon us these months.

    Starved galga 6 11 2021 400
    From Animal Rescue Spain.

A call informed us of an abandoned galgo, in the bones, in Toledo. An animal full of wounds, looking for food and shelter, an ignored one, an invisible one. We just picked him up, we called him Flash and he begins his new life in Animal Rescue Spain, a different future full of hope. Welcome!

In recent weeks, we have collected many abandoned dogs, in terrible conditions, so we need your help with veterinary expenses. Please consider contributing a donation now. Between all of us we can achieve it.

  • Black Galgo rescue more unwanted galgos

    Black galgo 1 11 2021 400
    From Black Galgo rescue.

    HELP

Hunting season is still in full swing and just yesterday we received notices to pick up 10 galgos and 2 pods, so far we have picked up these 6, but we know there will be more warnings. We can’t look away. We know what it meant to say no.
We know what we condemn them to.

But we’re absolutely overwhelmed. We don’t have shelter homes with free space and we are placing them in residences at a very high cost. Expenses have gone up so high they have us disturbed.

Do you want to help these galgos? Do you want to help us to continue defending them day and night?

Please support us or we can’t continue rescuing, fostering, healing, feeding so many poor unlucky Galgos. Please don’t leave us alone! We need you like never before.

Any help, no matter how small, will be appreciated. With your financial support you make a difference in the fate of so many rescued galgos. You, the good-hearted people who follow us and collaborate with this animalistic cause, are part of the great chain of solidarity.

  • Galga Kira – a bruised and battered galga needing help

    From Galgos Salvados Valencia

    Mayte Kira 2 400
‘This galguita is Kira, Mayte adopted her from Sevilla, she wanted to adopt a puppy and when she saw this case she felt the need to help her.

Kira, a battered galga, who had been beaten in the nose and had lost the snout, so is part of the snout doesn’t have it and breathes through a hole they made in an operation. He had also lost part of his ears and tails to freeze and worst of all is that he had to amputate his front paw and two back feet. A dog who was suffering from human evil and worse than ever while living will continue to suffer…. Mayte decided he had to adopt her and prove to her that we are not all the same.

Kira was so bad that it took them to be able to give her 5 months, she went through several operations but that she proved to be a fighter and a survivor and Mayte would do anything to help her, as she says is her Light.

Every 4 or 5 months, Mayte has to make her some new prosthetics so she can support as the bone eventually ends up sticking out and the wounds NEVER JUST HEALED, ooze and bleed. This takes a lot of money to make prosthetics every time it is deformed by supporting bones.

‘Rescuing dogs, it’s a never ending story.

Dogs are dumped en masse all year round and left to their own devices.

Not only at the end of the hunting season, but even now at the beginning, the underperforming dogs are discarded.
Already more than 10 adult galgos are waiting to come to GRA.

Because at this moment we are completely full 3 podencos are staying temporarily in another shelter, luckily 8 puppies and 1 oldie are in a foster family.

All help and support will be needed to cover all costs.
