Many years ago my first galga came from Ciudad Real, a hellhole for hunting dogs. This poor galga was found dying in a rubbish bin. Here’s the story.
‘Agents of the local police in Puertollano have managed to rescue alive 10/12/2014 this galgo struggling inside a Dumpster of the industrial city. This has been released by the police themselves on his Twitter account @ PuertoLocal092, which attacks the “damned criminals” who have been perpetrators. The agents have reported that the animal has been taken to the vet by volunteers from the Protectora Huellas.
Now named Angeles, she is serious but stable, has an infection and damage to one of her hind legs, and still is not out of danger, still fighting for her life. The galgos are some dogs very strong, do not lose hope.’
I’d guess she was dumped to die because she broke a leg hunting
