  • Portuguese bullfighter and galgo abuser – arrested for animal cruelty

    Scooby Joao 4 400
    From Mo Swatek

    TORERO AND GALGO ABUSER!
    A DISGUSTING COMBINATION

‘The galgos that you see in the pics belong to the Portuguese bullfigther Joao Moura, who was arrested a few days ago by the authorities of his country for an alleged case of animal abuse.

Joao Moura, apart from being bullfighter and killing bulls, breeds competition galgos, which as seen in the images had them in a totally unhealthy place and some of them presented a severe state of malnutrition.

What will the galgueros have to say about this? Of course, they may not see any kind of abuse here…

Bullfighters proclaim themselves lovers of bulls, hunters lovers of animals and nature and galgueros lovers of galgos.
“Nice” way to love that some people have.

  • Protectora Scooby Palencia – saving a young galgo

    Scooby Pegasus lost 400
The mass abandonment of the hunting dogs of Spain is never ending. Thank goodness for the rescue and rehoming associations. Protectora Scooby Palencia has taken this young galga off the streets to safety.

‘And now we introduce you to Pegasus, galguito rescued in Palencia. He spent several days crossing roads and we were unable to cath him. But the other day he sought shelter under a truck and our colleague Alba could catch him. He’s still a little scared, but he’s a very good galgo.

Thanks to the family who kept him safe until we arrived.’

  • Galgo puppy Prince – safe with Protectora Scooby

‘He’s only 9 months old and he’s so scared of people. He won’t let a collar near him and bites when you try to touch him.
With that behavior anyone would think that Prince was born and lived on the street, but no, he has been brought in by his owner who has got rid of the most surly because he has 20 more galgos! Poor Prince! What he has had to live in his short life.
Need a foster home that has experience with this kind of dogs and help you trust people.
We don’t want Prince to spend every year of his life at the shelter.

  • Galgo Panteon – rescued from a grave and waiting forever

    Scooby Panteon 400 2 2020
From Cobie at Protectora Scooby Valladollid.

‘So many people want to adopt Princessa, the galga that probably was shot through her head and that is good because this girl needs the best family there is after her ordeal and live the rest of her life in luxury as she deserves.

But there are so many dogs who deserve this, and one of them is Panteon. He was not shot in his head but fell, when abandoned and looking desperate on a graveyard for something to eat, in a new dug grave from 2 meters deep from which it was impossible for him to get out! Luckily somebody found him and warned Scooby so we could take him out and bring him to safety and this timid boy is now, over half a year later, still not adopted…He needs a bit time to know you but than he is the sweetest and most thankful boy you can imagine. He so needs his own, loving family which he can trust to be happy and also live the life he deserves…!’

    Contact Scooby
direct if you can offer him the loving forever home he deserves.

  • Update on Galga Princesa with Protectora Scooby

    Update Princesa.

In addition to being a great fighter, she is a very good galguita and she behaves very well when we treat her wounds
She already wants to run and play with other dogs, but it is still a little early to let her do it freely.

Little by little she is recovering and although she has lost an eye that does not prevent her from living a normal life and being happy ☺️.
