  • Scooby to the rescue again – the horror for galgos never ends

    Scooby galgo shattered leg 400 5 2018
What this galgo has had to suffer until being rescued!! We don’t even want to think about it… He has a completely shattered front leg, with the broken bones splintered and a severe infection. The pain that this poor animal has had to endure must have been terrible.

We will inform you about how he evolves, since we have to do him more tests to rule out other type of injuries and check his general health, since he is also extremely thin.

Please, we need your help, we have had several cases of animals with fractures and sick and we can’t assume so many expenses.

  • Cabo Roig, Costa Blanca – anyone help?

I received the following message from a reader. If anyone knows the answer to her question, please contact Fiona direct.

‘I am wondering if you can help me. I was in Spain, in Cabo Roig, a couple of weeks ago, and as I always do, I fed the stray cats.

I read this article in the Costa Blanca News on 11th May about the construction of cat shelters in some areas. Unfortunately, however, there was no mention of the intention to build shelters in Cab Roig.

Would you happen to know of any contact details, whom I could email to request that they construct shelters in Cabo?’

  • How does your dog deal with death in the family?

Who knows what goes through the mind of a dog when either another family pet, or a family member, dies? My animals (including my horse when his mate died) get depressed, sleep a lot, go off their food. Here’s an interesting article about a funeral home which lets a dog say farewell to it’s deceased owner.

  • Cuidad Animal Shelter – full to overflowing!

    Ciudad animal galgos 1 400
Earlier in the week I told you about 4 galgos rescued from abandonment by a galguero and now with Ciudad Animal Association. The shelter desperately needs help, this photo is what the volunteers are coping with now hunting is finished for last season.

‘January, February and March feared the hunting season, and today ending April we are full again, every day we receive a lot of warnings and emergencies for our area, having to say no to many… but also making a huge effort To attend to those cases which are more urgent and where the life of the animal is in danger or is wounded.

If there are warnings on the streets in La Mancha, imagine what is in the kennels of our surroundings… all the cases we see every day of which we can save some but how many stay on the road.
