  • 39 galgos in hellish conditions – now rescued

    (google translation) Empty stares, marked bodies, cries of real terror… we have faced one of the toughest rescues, a total of 39 Greyhounds and 2 Mestizos on a farm of almost 30.000 square meters. their only food, the dead pigs on the farm. We were asked to help some great friends since they had no way to help many galgos. We didn’t have enough tears when we saw that massacre, galgos crowded with ticks, a ground full of real shit, eaten to bite. Images that will remain forever engraved on our retinas, shrieks and looks that will be etched in our heart and will cleave again every time we remember this day that never had to have existed because those animals never had to be in this state .

  • Scooby Sprinters and the Medina del Campo 10km run

    NEWSFLASH: TEAM SCOOBY SPRINTERS COMPLETED THE MEDINA DEL CAMPO 10KM RUN TODAY, UNITED FOR THE ANIMALS: 3 over the finish line in 1:01:49 and one across the line in 1:01:48. We are so grateful to them for running for the Scooby rescued animals and profiling Protectora y Santuario Scooby in Medina del Campo. We have pledges of €3,690 for their run and donations of €979 already in (some PayPal fees to deduct). Please congratulate our runners here and PayPal your pledge to edwin@scoobymedina.com by 18 May. Thank you to everyone supporting TEAM SCOOBY SPRINTERS. This is a major contribution to our fencing replacement project, still another €7,330 to go but we’re well on the way.

    I feel emotions, just as you do. Just like you I feel Love, I feel Fear, I feel Pain and Joy. I also feel Grief!

    I am not born knowing how to fit into your life. I will sometimes get it wrong. Sometimes I will not understand what you expect. I may fear things or act in a way you don’t understand. I may not understand how you are acting, or that strangers to the home mean no harm. I may not know what is acceptable to play with and what is not! I have to be taught these things, just as you had to be taught as a child.
    I am an individual, and just like you may not fit exactly into your expectations.
    Please teach me. I like to learn. I like to please. I love to be loved.
    Just because I may make mistakes please don’t discard me.
    I should not be an ‘until’ dog. I should be a forever dog!

    Just like you, I feel Love! I feel Grief!

  • Team Scooby Sprinters – will you sponsor them on 29th April?

    Eva, Špela, Urška &Žiga will run the 10km marathon in Medina del Campo in aid of Protectora y Santuario Scooby on 29 April. We are hoping you will support them and Scooby by sponsoring one or all of the runners per kilometre.

    We know how much you love to support the Scooby animals and now, for the first time ever, we have an amazing opportunity for Scooby to have a presence in the Medina del Campo annual marathon. Not only one runner, but 4 which will give the shelter an unprecedented profile on its home ground. The Scooby animals are so lucky to have these runners going to such lengths (lengths of 10km to be precise!).

  • Scooby to the rescue again

    Protectora y Santuario Scooby – ‘We have rescued these two Galgos Eva and Mon in a village from Segovia. Their owner had them in terrible conditions and the Civil Guard has opened him a file for alleged animal abuse. They are very skinny and have skin problems, probably due to poor feeding and to external parasites. Now we are going to give them all the necessary care so that they recover and can start a new and happy life as soon as possible.’
