Galgos 112 – Galga Danna hoping for a forever home
This beauty is Danna, the supermom who gave birth to her 5 puppies on the street and brought them forward. Now that they are all adopted and happy with their families, it’s her turn.
Danna is in residence waiting to go to a home with whoever wants to foster or adopt her. You don’t know what you’re missing by delaying it.
Danna, besides being beautiful, is sweetness in galga form. She loves cuddles and human contact. She is very well behaved and has a calm temperament. When he sees you with the strap in his hand he comes running to you to put it on and go for a walk. He can live with cats. Hopefully someone notices her soon.
Email info@galgos112.com for more information on how to foster or adopt Danna.

Galgo Salvador – Project Galgo & Fundacion Benjamin Mehnert couldn’t save him
Some of you may have known but many didn’t.
Salvador was named by one of our adopters and was so honoured to be that one. He was found in a hellish state having been attacked by the Galguero’s other dogs and left to rot. For everything that followed, Fundación Benjamín Mehnert words will hit you very hard. We send strength, love and eternal thanks to everyone there. He will never ever be forgotten. His name is etched in our hearts forevermore.
It is heartbreaking for us, but for them, it goes beyond..
Open letter from Fundacion Benjamin Mehnert

Galgos and the cold
This article was taken from the Internet and written about greyhounds but all the information also relates to galgos, the Spanish Greyhound. So why do greyhounds feel the cold more? This is often due to their lean body structure and short coat. Unlike other breeds with nice thick coats or an extra layer of fat, greyhounds have a slim build and a thin coat that doesn’t provide much insulation. This makes them more susceptible to feeling the chill when the temperature drops.
Greyhounds also have a low-fat percentage. This means they lack insulation as they don’t have that extra body fat to keep them warm. This also means they lose the heat faster and feel the cold much more intensely.

Sunday 2nd February 2025 – Europe is marching for the Spanish Hunting Dogs
From Platforma NAC (No a la Caza)
[INTERNATIONAL PROTESTS] Europe united against cruelty. 32 European cities will take to the streets to demand an end to dog hunting. All details by city on this weblink.
Thanks to international solidarity, thousands of abandoned hunting dogs in Spain find a second chance.
Hunting with hounds in Spain is a barbaric practice that condemns thousands of animals to a lifetime of suffering and, in many cases, to violent death. It is time to ban this atrocity and ensure the well-being of all sentient beings.
🇪🇸 Spain, wake up! We are the only country in the EU that allows this barbarism.
