  • Ferria of 100 x 100 Mascotas (Pets) Madrid – SOS Perrera Badajoz speaks out

Badajoz Queen Sofie 250 5 2014Her Majesty, Queen Sofia of Spain, visited the exhibition of IFEMA in Madrid where they were holding the Feria of 100 x 100 Mascotas (Pets) at the weekend.

The Queen very kindly stopped at the stand of SOS Perrera Badajoz and listened attentively to the explanations of Jorge and Noemi, two of our volunteers, about our work and the situation with the dogs in the perrera.

She was touched to hear about Dora’s case, who received lots of stroking from her, and at the end, she was interested in our claims against the Town Hall of Badajoz and took away with her a complete dossier and documentation about our denuncia.

  • Desperately needing a new van – can you help?

Sorry, folks, bit slow on publishing news at the moment as we’ve lost out Internet connection and I’m having to use a friend’s wifi.

112carlotagalgos have a desperate appeal for help. Their trusty van has finally died, brakes, suspension..you name it, it’s beyond repairable. This means Charl cannot get to the vet, collect rescued dogs, etc. Nightmare! So this fundraiser has been launched to get the money together towards a new van – we’re talking about 15-20,000 euros for a 2nd hand one from a garage with guarantee. Here’s the link if you can help. Please share. A rescue association can’t work without transport. Anyone know a big lottery winner?!!

  • Eurogroup for Animals – vote for improvement on animal welfare

Eurogroup for Animals is campaigning to put animal welfare at the heart of the European Elections and make animal welfare an issue that gets citizens to vote and make a difference. In the year of the citizens the distance between the EU institutions and European citizens seems larger than ever. We need to engage the members of the next European Parliament, as the only directly elected EU institution, to bridge the gap between a world of paper and the interests of real citizens and animals, of flesh and blood.

This website shows what needs to be done, who is committed to help and allows Europe’s citizens to understand where they can make an impact on animal welfare at the next European Elections.
