  • Galga Nera in foster in the UK – hoping for a forever home


    In June we said farewell to our blind Podenco Bo, which meant we had space for another dog, a companion for Podenca Rosie. This time we decided to foster an older dog..


    Project Galgo     is an association in east England formed in 2020 which brings podencos and galgos to the UK for foster and adoption. They work with 3 Spanish associations, Fundacion Benjamin Mehnert, Galgos del Sur and Galgo Rescue Almeria.

    After a home check, we were accepted and advised that galga Nera would be coming to us from Galgos del Sur. She travelled by road with another half dozen galgos and a couple of podencos. It’s a long journey….

  • Marching in Spain 14 September – remembering the 32 souls in Azuaga Badajoz

    This Sunday 14 September we raise our voices for those who could not defend themselves.

    32 lives killed by starvation and neglect in Azuaga (Badajoz). They were not forgotten. It was not an accident. It was cruelty.

  • Cordoba – Thieves steal food and tools from an animal shelter!

    They steal more than 120 kilos of food and various tools at the dog shelter of Segunda Oportunidad Santaella in Cordoba.

  • PACMA Trying to get justice for the 32 in Badajoz – 14 september


    32 dogs died of hunger and abandonment in Azuaga (Badajoz).

  • Competition galgos stolen and mutilated in Seville

    ‘The #CivilGuard of #Sevilla has detained two involved in the robbery and mutilation of two competition #galgos on a property in the Seville town of #VillanuevadelAriscal.

    The investigation began following the #complaint filed by the owner of the estate for the #theft of two competition greyhounds with a “high economic value”, the Seville Civil Guard reported in a statement.

    During the investigation, the #agents found that the alleged perpetrators took advantage of the absence of the owner of the house during the celebration of the patron holidays of the town of Aljarafeña to commit the robbery. The castrated #animals were located in a home in a neighborhood on the outskirts of the capital Seville.
