  • Fundacion Benjamin Mehnert – more galgos arrive

A Week of Summer at the Foundation

There is no rest, no comfort, no break between seasons; summer weeks are as demanding as any other week.

Thirteen greyhounds have entered our facilities, and the team quickly mobilizes, providing veterinary check-ups and necessary care, as many of these dogs have had traumatic pasts. During the week, we assess illnesses, perform surgeries, handle neuterings, and look for potential adopters to ensure our dogs find a safe and loving home. Although the team ends up exhausted, Friday is a day of hope, with some dogs ready to go home with their new families. Each rescued greyhound is a victory and a reminder of the importance of our work.

    Please give us a hand

At ours, Rosely become Rosie and Rosy Posie. Bo becomes Bo Diddley.

  • Galgos Rescue Almeria – galgos needing help

    GRA galgos needing help 400 2 2024
    From Sandy Galgosover

Hunting is finished again. It’s distressing to see how many galgos are no longer useful to hunters and are dumped.
It seem like it gets worse every year. Galgo’s Rescue Almeria will take care of some of them.

Your help / support will be needed to prepare these sweethearts (blood tests, vaccinations, identification chip / European passport, sterilization / castration,…) for their new future.

  • Poem of a dog

    Poem
I’m the one who’s always waiting for you.

Your car has a special sound that I have imprinted on my senses, I can recognize it in a thousand.

Your steps have a magic bell.

Your voice is music to my ears.

If I see your joy, it makes me happy!.

    Your scent is the best.

    Your presence moves my senses.

Your waking up wakes me up

I contemplate you sleeping and for me you are my God, I am happy watching your sleep.

Your look is a ray of light.

Your hands upon me, hold the lightness of peace and the sublime display of infinite love.

When you leave, I feel a huge void in my heart.

I keep waiting for you again and again.

I am the one who will wait for you all your life today, tomorrow and forever:

    I am your dog

  • Galgos del Fenix

In our Dia del Galgo campaign, we try to highlight those Galgos who, for one reason or another, have not received a single adoption inquiry.

These so-called invisible galgos are often just unnoticed – normally colored or otherwise unnoticed – and often traumatized or harder to adopt. If you are considering adoption consider these galgos as well – you could meet the love of your life.

  • Still can not get online

This is why we are still offline at home : Car burst into flames after brake failure

Apparently the heat melted some of the BT equipment and 2 weeks on they are waiting for replacement parts.

BT tell us it could be another week before we are back online at home. Thank goodness we have the computers in our local library!

    Many thanks for your patience,
    Beryl

  • Back soon

Due to internet connection problems I am struggling to write any new articles.

Hopefully things will be back to normal very soon.
