I thought Denmark was a civilised Western society. But it obviously has its own breed of sick sadistic animal torturers. Please sign and share this petition – support the dogs in Denmark.

Hunting with galgos in Spain – 2014/15 season due to start
Hunting with galgos is about to commence for the season. The galgueros claim they DO care for their dogs – they must have their heads stuck up their a….! The truth.

26 horses seized by Guardia Civil – now with Scooby
Things to sell in the Scooby shop?
Horses are my other life-long passion, I still have my last two old boys, wandering our meadows contentedly. A different life from the 26 horses just arrived at Scooby. Raquel Lopez is the lawyer who also acts on ACTIN cases. These equines are on top of the several pregnant mares rescued last month! I’ve offered for some of the foals to come to me – grazing in my beautiful meadows is just what they need – but the animals have to stay with Scooby until judgement is passed against their owner.

Levriers sans Frontieres – demand justice for Elias
Your support is needed. Here’s the storyfrom Levriers sans Frontieres, translated by Danielle Hart, who translated my galgo book into French.
A French woman has 2 galgos and a Dogue argentin (not sure what they are called in English, Mastiffs maybe?) named Elias? She wanted to adopt a third galgo and decided to have Elias euthanized to make room for the new galgo! He was only 6 years old and she had had him since he was a puppy.

Galgos112 – saving hounds
Galgos112 do a marvellous job of healing galgos and podencos. Here are two in their care, little galgo puppy Joel and podenca Dune.
This little guy is Joel. If you look at the photos you will see that he has a deformity in one of his legs, as if he was a duck. This deformity, probably from birth, doesn’t prevent him from being a normal active mischievous puppy. And the deformity has probably been his salvation, since with this leg he is no good to hunt.
Dune was not so lucky in life.

Spain – showing people DO care
Last Saturday 13 September, 45,000 people marched in Madrid to protest about Toro de la Vega, this brutal killing of a magnificent black bull in the name of entertainment. Shows Spanish people are sick of animal cruelty, especially in fiestas. Will Spain ever move out of the dark ages?

The ‘brave’ men of Tordesillas, Castile y Leon, Spain!
I know Toro de la Vega isn’t about galgos…but one last pic. The ‘brave’ men used 45 lances on the poor bull, including one in his balls!

Scooby Medina – sharing Fermin’s private feelings
Scooby Medina del Campo shelter is probably the largest one and also one of the first ones. They have hundreds of dogs, dozens of horses, goats, poultry, ferrets. They rely totally on donations. Please read these words from Fermin, and help if you can.
