2009 has been an amazing year for Galgo News. The number of readers has increased considerably, which means we are all getting the message about the plight of the galgos in Spain spread far and wide. We’ve had responses to some of our letter-writing campaigns, and we’ve highlighted the extreme cruelty inflicted, not only on galgos, but on all of Spain’s dogs. And we continue to praise and support the associations and volunteers who work tirelessly at the ‘blunt end of the wedge. One day, if we all work together, we WILL make a difference.
Thank you all for your interest in the stories on Galgo News, and please spread the word, the galgos and podencos especially need everyone’s support.

I hope you have a Happy Holiday. May I say THANK YOU for getting the word out about the Lovely Galgos and what peril they face every day. Let us hope that with each passing year that more and more Galgos will find a safe sanctuary…..

Thank you for your holiday wishes and about the
galgos. It is the wonderful volunteers in Spain, in the refuges and
shelters, the associations who work so hard too, who all deserve the
thanks. I try and give them as much publicity as I can and reach as many
people as possible about the plight of these poor dogs. And January looms,
the end of hunting with galgos in Spain, and it is getting harder, certainly in
France, to find homes for them.
As long as the campaigns highlighted in Galgo News
get as much support as possible, and we all spread the word about the galgos and
podencos, one day we HAVE to make a difference.
